Vehicle Description
Welcome to Street Dreams as we celebrate our 23rd year in the
classic and muscle car business. Here's a classic that's a bit
different from our standard fare and a perfect machine with which
to enjoy the spring weather. How about this timeless British Racing
Green 1979 MGB. MG's 'B' model was introduced in 1962 and remained
THE definitive British sports car throughout the 1960's and 1970's.
The 'B' had such a successful 18-year run, in fact, that Mazda has
said they used it as a benchmark when developing their wildly
popular Miata. According to the MG websites and chat rooms, this
cutie appears to have its original 1.8L engine (EN 18V672Z-L37229)
in the original body (CN BU23T 980132P). Additional features
include a fully synchronized 4-speed manual transmission, power
front disc brakes, and a new top. According to the provided
receipts totaling thousands of dollars, an extensive restoration
was performed in 1999-2000. The engine was disassembled, hot
tanked, bored, balanced, and rebuilt. New upholstery and carpet
were installed, as well as a new wiring harness, hood, and trunk
lid. A full repaint followed, and the new convertible top was just
installed last year. This little gem is a pleasure to drive, with a
direct mechanical engagement that is unavailable in a modern
automobile. And, although it was restored about 22 years ago, I
cannot find ANY rust on the body. Just the ticket for soaking up a
little sunshine! String back driving gloves and tweed cap not
included. Call the team that can make your dream a reality. Street
Dreams (830-997-1950) is a full service dealership that can assist
