Vehicle Description
This 1969 Ford Mustang Mach 1 has a distinct color combo, an
aggressive style, and a big 390 motor under the hood. And you know
it's a true driver's classic when you get to take full control of
this fastback's V8 thanks to four-on-the-floor.
The 1969 Mustang will always have a special place on our collector
car hearts because it was the debut year of the Mach 1. It was
started as both a premium and aggressive package, and so the
factory-correct Silver Jade seems like the perfect way to present
it. The metallic finish has a nice and sophistical metallic
undertone. This car was restored in the early 2000s, so there will
be some signs of age. The brightness of the paint seems to draw
even more attention to the tastefully contrasting dark performance
pieces. This includes the blackout hood with shaker air grabber,
deep chin spoiler, blackout grille, full-length sports stripe, rear
window louvers, and full-width rear spoiler. Add in a nice shine
with the chrome bumper and Mag 500 wheels, and this has the proper
look of a bright and aggressive classic American muscle
machine.
The sporty and premium feeling continues inside. You have the
high-back bucket seats with correct comfort-weave inserts. And we
love how the aggressive red streak in the seatbacks coordinates
with the floor mats. This upholstery combines with the door panels
dash, carpet, and headliner to deliver a clean and well-done look
in the fundamentals. It's the kind of details you can appreciate,
right down to the working courtesy lights. Plus, with the
wood-rimmed steering wheel, full gauge w/tach, and Hurst shifter
poking out of the center console, you know this is a driver's
Mustang.
The engine bay has the clean look of proper pony car power. It's a
well-done presentation with the bold blue block radiating from
within the tidy darkness. This is an S-code car, and so it's nice
to see that a 390-cubic-inch V8 still lives in the engine bay. And
of course, the shaker hood feeding fresh air to the four-barrel
carburetor is terrific for both style and performance. This has the
look of proper care everywhere from the finned Cobra valve covers
to the Optima red top battery. The V8 fires up readily, and the
four-speed manual transmission gives you firm control over it all.
Power steering, a stout 9-inch rear, and wide BF Goodrich T/As give
you a solid feeling on the road.
The sale comes complete with the Marti Report and owner's manual.
