Ground up restored to show and go condition. These square body
trucks are very popular and this one is a great example.
EXTERIOR: The body looks pristine. It is straight, there's no rust
or damage. The panels fit real nice, doors close like new. New
tailgate. The moldings and emblems were removed and filled for a
clean look. Gorgeous Midnight blue metallic paint is polished like
glass. All of the chrome and trim was replaced- bumpers, grill and
trim, mirrors, handles, marker lights etc. It has LED taillight
conversion. New windshield and sliding rear window assembly. The
glass is tinted. All new rubber seals and weatherstrips. Jambs are
painted slick, latches and sill plates were replaced. Goodyear
Assurance tires a little bit bigger in the back and they are on
American Racing six spoke chrome rims. There is some pitting on the
wheels.
INTERIOR: The inside was gutted and the metal was painted the same
gloss blue as the outside. Custom bucket seats are upholstered in
genuine two tone black and white leather. It has a buddy seat in
the middle that also has a storage compartment and a fold down
armrest. New carpet on the floor. In front of me is a new dash pad
with billet inserts, a custom set of blue lit gauges and a new
heater control panel. Nice leather grip steering wheel with a
billet shift handle. Upgraded retractable shoulder belts. New door
panels, window cranks and handles. Custom billet mirror and pedals.
$1,420 stereo system. It has a Bluetooth Retrosound stereo, 2 JL
coaxial speakers, 2 6x9 JL speakers, a JL Sport Amp and auxiliary
plugs.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Smooth running crate 350. On top is an
Offenhauser intake, dual feed Holley carb and a Mallory ignition.
It also has a set of Hooker headers. The motor is painted blue to
match and is dressed with a set of aluminum valve covers. New hood
latch assembly. Overall proper and tidy, it has horns, battery is
mounted, new clutch fan, proper shroud etc.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Inside the bed is rock solid metal. It was
prepped and sprayed with a durable black bedliner. You can use this
bed without worries.
UNDERSIDE: The front end has been completely rebuilt including new
ball joints, bushings, springs, tie rods and shocks. In back it has
staggered coil over shocks. The brakes have been redone, it has
disc in front and drum in back. New e-brake cable, hoses and lines.
It has a custom exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers, welded joints and
stainless tips. The bottom of the motor is clean, starter was
replaced. It has a rebuilt turbo 350 automatic trans. The metal
under this truck is rock solid- floors, braces and frame are all
clean. No signs of rust or damage. It has been sandblasted and
painted with POR15 rust preventative.
This really is a nice truck. Not driven much since finished. It is
ready to be driven and enjoyed. These are so easy to work on, parts
are readily available. Why pay $60,000 or more for a new truck when
you can drive something cool?
