This is a classic 1950 Chevrolet 3100 series pickup truck. Prior to when I bought the truck at a local Mecum auction in 2013, the owner did a frame-off restoration. In 2013 it looked great and was working ok, but engine was running hot and mechanically it needed some attention. The engine is not original. Sometime in the past 70 years, probably when it was restored, the engine was replaced with a straight 6 from the same era (early 1950's). I spent $10,000 having the best classic car mechanic in Dallas install a custom radiator, mill the head flat, do a valve job, change the brake shoes and a host of other miscellaneous items. Copy of repair invoices available. The truck ran great for many years, and I enjoyed driving it around Dallas. It has a after-market air conditioner that works well and allows me to drive comfortably in the summer.
I have kept the truck in an enclosed garage since I bought it. But over the past two years I neglected it and it sat idle too long.
Today the exterior, wooden bed and interior remains in excellent condition, however it is not running. this is what happens when you let a truck sit too long unused. My mechanic tells me the valves are sticking and it needs a valve job. I have decided to sell it "as is" and let the buyer have the fun of fixing it. I am ready to move on. The cost to get this ride running well again will depend on your mechanical skills and willingness to get your hands dirty versus hiring a shop to do the work for you.
