Vehicle Description
1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 Pace Car Replica
In 1994 there was one return to the Indianapolis Speedway, and one
debut. The debut was that of an appearance of NASCAR for the
Brickyard 400. The re-appearance was that of the Monte Carlo as the
pace car after a 6 year absence. To celebrate this return for this
year it was decided to produce 400 "replicas" of the original pace
car for this year's first event.
For consignment, one of only 400 for 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34
in pace car trimmings. This car has its original paint, decals and
V6 200hp engine, as well as only 66,000 miles. Here's your chance
to own an affordable original from 1995 which with those low
numbers is sure to only increase in value.
Exterior
Ladies and Gentlemen, start your engines! Here we have the first
year of the 5th gen coupe now named the Monte Carlo. This sporty
looker has all the aero trimmings of the day with a rear spoiler
and of course the graphics stripe package for the exterior. We have
our example in the only color available that being white with the
purple and gold checkered flag striping seen on the hood, side
panels, and B pillars. Nicely integrated neoprene bumpers are on
front and rear and inset aero lighting is all around. The roofline
is beautifully curved to slice through the air, and in lieu of
15-inch alloy wheels this car has the limited edition replica
obligatory 16 inch white painted alloy wheels with central bowtie
badge. Green, green, green, green!
Interior
Part and partial to the limited lineup of 400, was the interior
package which consisted of extra interior ornamentation which
includes on this car tan leather panels on the doors along with
molded black vinyl, burl wood accenting and tan carpeting. Power
windows were standard, and power locks are seen on the actuator
handle inset not the black panel. As we feast our eyes inside, we
are greeted with the visuals of tan smooth shiny and embroidered on
their backs, leather that shows little wear of its age. These high
back buckets have power features and a rear overstuffed dual bucket
bench is in back looking spanking new. A black central console
races aerodynamically towards the dash and dips for the shift lever
portion and then moves up to the center dash. Here we see an
AM/FM/Cassette ratio with blue LCD readout and some preset play
buttons. A/C controls are up on top and are in turn knob form with
the vents just below. The simple eyebrow dash has the instruments
under its visor and the original steering wheel is fronting this
dash. On the passenger's side is another burl wood strip with a
badge stating that this car is #121 in the 400 lineup. Black
carpeting floods the floors and special tan Indianapolis winged
wheel embroidered floor mats cover the black carpeting. A tan
headliner is above and there is not a mark on it! Back home
again...
Drivetrain
Under the hood in a clean engine bay is the 3.4 liter V6 engine. It
has EFI and a 4T60E 4 speed automatic transmission on the back. The
final drive is 3.43. Into the short chute they come!
Undercarriage
Well preserved with stamped gray steel floor pans and black painted
structural and suspension items. All is clean, light gray, no rust
and expertly lined up brake lines. Speaking of brakes, power disc
brakes are on front, and power drums for the rear. Also,
independent suspension helps get you through turns 3 and 4 at top
speed.
Drive-Ability
She fires right up and off to the test track where there is indeed
NO lineup of bricks, just smooth curvy asphalt to test our cars and
put them through their "paces" which is very appropriate to this
car. Performance was swift, handling good, and braking bias free.
All comfy on the leather interior and all functions were working up
to snuff.
Ahhh the mid nineties with their Euro aero looks and this one adds
in the graphics and some other specials to make it a more unique
car that is collectible. One of 400, I can see the checkered flag
waving on this transaction with victory lane being your garage and
your adorning neighbors gathering around for the drinking of the
milk (or beer!).
