Vehicle Description
With its upgraded small block V8 power, an upgraded suspension, a
leather-lined A/C interior, and plenty of other thoughtful details,
this 1938 Ford Business Coupe gives you custom street machine style
wrapped in an everyday easy kind of appeal.
The fluid lines and a rounded nose on a '38 Ford give it a timeless
style, and it's good to have it finished in a sleek red. There's a
good luster from a modern respray that covers this all-steel body.
It properly highlights the fenders, hood, and long trunk that's the
hallmark of a business coupe. But this was built to be a street
machine, and so you have an overall finish that makes the kind of
coupe that's easy to drive. After all, the large exhaust tips,
blue-dot tail lights, polished 15-inch wheels, and forward-leaning
stance are all part of a car that deserves to be out on the streets
every Saturday night. And even with the custom style, this one
keeps the classic look you love with the teardrop headlights,
two-piece rear glass, and a terrifically straight full-length trim
line that wraps around the front end. It makes for a total package
that gives you a distinctive custom that knows how to respect its
history.
The moment you open the door, you can see that the old 1930s-style
interior has been replaced with a full custom and comfy setup. That
means two late-model bucket seats with proper headrests for all-day
comfort, and they even power adjust to the ideal position. The
two-tone gray leather has door panels to match, and it also sets
the tone for the carpeting, headliner, and trunk. So you have a
full uniform presentation. There are nice extras for a comfortable
cruiser like cold-blowing air conditioning and an AM/FM/CD stereo
with aux input. Plus, the banjo-style sports steering wheel and VDO
gauge package make for a good driver's car.
Under the hood is a 302 cubic-inch V8. It's nice to have a classic
ford with proper blue oval power, and the tidy presentation makes
it easy to show off. There are good upgrades like a Holley
Powercharger air cleaner assembly, a Holley four-barrel carburetor,
and an aluminum intake. You'll also spot good supporting
components, like an aluminum radiator w/electric fan, a Mallory
ignition, and an Optima red top battery. As you look underneath,
you'll see a fully upgraded suspension, including a Mustang II
front end (possibly with Heidts components.) And the three-speed
automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front
discs make for a solid all-around driver.
Complete with the build receipts, this is the classic Ford that's
built to cruise near or far in comfort. It makes for a complete and
thoughtful build that you know will be terrific to take home. Call
