The Porsche 911 is a case study in continuous improvement. Dating back 75 years the connections are obvious, not the least of which is the classic shape of the car and the steadfast commitment to the rear engine layout. Parking a 1965 model next to a 2021 may seem startlingly different in terms of size and power but the family resemblance is unmistakable.
The 6th generation 997 series, introduced in 2005 was the first major refinement of the "new" water cooled 911's launched in 1999. The 996, despite being almost universally panned as not a "real 911" proved the old American Muscle car adage that there is "no replacement for displacement" and the horsepower that comes with it. Water cooling the venerable flat six engine was a revelation. The power delivery was head and shoulders above the final air cooled versions in the 993, and certainly overcame the critic's nit-picking; ensuring that the 911 would live on.
The Carrera C4S was the wunderkind, with its all wheel drive and powerful 3.8 liter normally aspirated flat six engine, the largest yet produced. The S line was further distinguished by suspension and brake upgrades and of course by the wide body, beefier tires and subtle aero effects.

Unlike most exotic cars, the Porsche 911 has a measure of practicality that makes it as suited to racing as it is to grocery getting. And did I say it sounds awesome? There is nothing like a top down 911 to get the best seat in the house for that symphony in flat six.
Asking price reflects the current crazy market; serious offers will be considered and low balls ignored. The ship has sailed on cheap 911's with no end in sight, get one while you can. Porsches have proven to be very reliable investments and the limited up market editions, like this C4S are the ones to own. Unlike Ferraris, a high mileage Porsche will hold its value. Buy this car, drive it, take care of it and if and when you decide to sell it you will likely not lose money on it.
