If you are in the market for a performance Mustang then Roush should be at the top of your list. This rare 2015 Stage 3 (RS3) convertible demonstrates that point. It takes a well-optioned Mustang GT with its Coyote motor and IRS to a higher level. The visuals alone are fantastic, as the Roush aerobody kit and associated graphics really make this car stand out. But the heart of the RS3 package comes under the hood in the form of a supercharger and tune that produce a whopping 670 hp! Throw in suspension and interior upgrades and you’ve got a Mustang that really delivers.
This 1-owner convertible shows just 11,200 miles and has a spotless history. Now any Stage 3 convertible is a rare find, as they represent a mere 4% of production vs. coupes. But to find one in Triple Yellow is near impossible; this is believed to be the only such example built for 2015. It is fully documented with its Ford and Roush window stickers.
The car really pops with the Roush body kit and graphics. Up front is a revised front fascia with higher flow grille openings along with a front splitter and performance driving lamps. Out back are rear fascia side splitters, an aero rear valence, and a decklid spoiler. In between you will find a hood scoop, body side scoops, and side rocker aero aids. Other graphic treatments include stripes, badging, and a rear blackout panel. There is also a convertible style bar that looks great when the black power top is lowered. And while the original 20” Roush Quicksilver wheels (included) look great, the present black wheels with Nitto tires are even better.
The amazing drivetrain takes Ford’s 5.0L Coyote platform and adds a Roush 2.3L TVS supercharger along with special tuning to develop 670 hp. There aren’t many cars that can match this ouput. The 6-speed manual transmission is easy to use and has short, crisp throws. The independent rear suspension uses extreme duty half shafts to better handle the power level. There is also an upgraded Roush suspension with adjustable coilovers.
The black leather interior features heated and cooled sport bucket seats in front. There are Roush gauges along with a serialized dash plaque. In the middle of the dash you will find a color touch screen with navigation and Shaker audio controls. Just below is the center console which contains the short shifter with Roush knob along with dual cupholders and additional storage. Other features include dual climate control and pushbutton start. The original steering wheel (included) was upgraded to a soft suede piece with center stripe. The original Roush floor mats are also included and are still in their plastic.
The Mustang GT is a great car but the RS3 package makes it even better. It has an outstanding appearance to go along with its blazing performance. But it is also a car you can live with every day, with more room, a better seating position, and improved ingress/egress over so many other sports cars. In addition, with a sticker price of $71,550 and only 11,200 miles on such a rare car, this one is a special buy as well.
