For Sale: 1993 Jaguar XJS in Stratford, Connecticut

Vehicle Description

1993 Jaguar XJS 4.0

This is a three owner car built in England and delivered into NYC back in 1993. It was sold to someone on Long Island, who owned it for roughly 10 years, where it was sold on to the second owner, in CT, who only had the car for a couple of years before selling it to the current owner. When he purchased the car Paul realized that the second owner hadn't cared for it in the same way he was going to. The interior was a little worn, the front spoiler was broken and it was dirty, the seller stating "I'm getting something more fun, a Porsche 911!" So, Paul bought the car and proceeded to bring her back to show winning condition. He deep cleaned the entire car, found a couple of small chips in the paint which he immediately had filled, replaced the front spoiler and had some dye work performed on the front seats. The car at the time only had about 70K miles on her and wasn't in need of any major mechanical work. He changed all the fluids and proceeded to join the local Jaguar Club. He and his wife got rather involved as members, volunteering at concours shows, as members of the BOD of the club, etc. He also got very involved in showing this beautiful Cat. Learning all the concours rules and regulations, he prepped the car for many wins, including a national championship podium in the XJS class for JCNA (Jaguar Clubs of North America).

This particular Jaguar is sort of a rarity as there are not that many 6 cylinder XJS coupes out there, unfortunately, due to Ford's buy out in 1989, Jaguar didn't keep track of exactly how many were produced, however, it is known that in 1994, they only produced 306 6 cylinder coupes, so it can be guessed that less than a 1000 of them were produced in 1993.

As Jaguars go, this one is nothing different in terms of amenities. Full leather interior in Doeskin, to go nicely with the Oyster Metallic paint; AC (that has been recharged with R134 and blows cold); power, heated seats with memory; power locks; intermittent wipers; tilt wheel; power steering; power disc brakes (this one still with the inboard discs); cruise control; 4 speed automatic transmission w/sport mode; front and rear fog lights; full analog gauges; 6 disc CD changer/AM/FM stereo (Currently has a Pioneer head unit with 6 speaker system however, original system is included); real burl-wood trim, etc. The wheels are the snowflake/lattice design and are wrapped with BFGoodrich P235/60/R15's Radial T/As

The 4.0L AJ6 inline 6 cylinder puts out over 200HP and about 250 lbft of torque, she still runs strong, with less than 100,000 miles on the odometer (93,638 to be precise). In his 15+ years of ownership, this car has always been garaged, every year she gets her oil changed in the spring when she comes out of hibernation and late fall before she goes back for her winter's sleep. Recently, within the last 2000 miles, all the brakes were done.

As previously mentioned, this car is in concours quality condition and is all original aside from the usual wear items, the front air dam and the radio. There is no rot whatsoever and only some minimal surface rust on a couple of the original exhaust pieces. She has racked up over 30 trophies that say so.

She runs and drives wonderfully, has powerful acceleration, handles well, stops firmly and is really a very comfortable Grand Touring car.

This car should go to someone looking to continue on in the same vein of ownership that Paul has accomplished over his tenure. As life would have it, other pursuits have taken him and his wife away from enjoying the car as they once did and with only a 1000 miles (+/-) put on her over the last 2 years, feels it's time to move her on to a new home.

The cost for adoption of this fine kitty is $19,500

If you have any questions, for many more photos and video, would like to schedule a time to see her or make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for the interest.
