1965 Ford Mustang Fastback For Sale - Complete Pro Touring Build
LMC is very proud to offer for sale this 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback
Pro Touring Ford introduced the Fastback version of the popular
Mustang in August 1964. It traded conventional trunk space for
increased interior volume and gave the car lines similar to the
Corvette and some European sports cars. The car was received with
praise as it introduced a racing disposition to the Mustang line
and even served as the basis for Carroll Shelby to build his
GT350s. Today, Fastback Mustang's serve as a very popular platform
for Hot Rodders to improve on the performance and styling offered
from the factory. This 1965 Ford Mustang is a purpose-built pro
touring car that has been built with some of the best components
available in the aftermarket. Starting with the heart of this
machine, is a 351 Windsor Dart block that has been stroked to 460ci
with Trickflow Twisted Wedge R225 cylinder heads topped with a Jim
Inglese 48 IDA Weber carburetor setup that produces 640hp and 618
ft. lbs. Behind that massive V8, is a close ratio Tremec Magnum
6-Speed transmission with far better gear ratios than the original
four speed and is paired with a Mcleod RXT twin disc clutch that is
easy to operate. The rear end has been upgraded with a Moser 9inch
filled with a 4.11 Truetrac differential spec'd by Detroit Speed.
Most important with any pro-touring build is the suspension needed
to make these old pony cars handle by modern standards. This car is
fitted with one of the best setups in the industry, it has the
complete Detroit Speed Aluma Frame front suspension and Quadralink
for the rear with JRI adjustable shocks at all four corners. The
unibody structure has also been stiffened with a set of Detroit
Speed weld in frame connectors. To allow for more tire in the rear,
a Detroit Speed Mini Tub kit has been fitted to allow for the
massive 315mm tires. Braking duties are handled by Wilwood Forged
Narrow Superlite discs brakes with 6 piston calipers in the front
and 4 piston in the rear. The aesthetic of this build was
influenced by Shelby and has been styled with many factory-style
exterior parts including Shelby hood, R model front valance and R
model rear window. The exterior was painted in beautiful Candy
Apple Red with gold stripes and "GT350H" tape stripes. The interior
has been fitted with Tmi sport R seats, dash pad and door panels to
match. This complete Pro-Touring Mustang is begging to be driven
and put to the test! Additional Details: 1965 FORD MUSTANG -
