Vehicle Description
1980 Corvette
Why This Car Is Special
We have not only a beautiful survivor 1980 Corvette coupe with only
one beautiful re-paint in Claret Red, matching leather interior,
and T-tops here at Skyway Classics, but is also modified one that
you can win with on the street and at the car shows.
Mechanical
1980 was notable because it was the last model year Corvette
without a computer, and ours has the 350 cubic inch engine under
the hood that is the original numbers-matching engine, that was
factory rated at 190 horsepower with its Rochester Quadrajet
4-barrel.
Now the engine has been upgraded with some performance and
appearance items like the Edelbrock 4-barrel carb and aluminum
intake manifold under the snorkel air cleaner with its chrome lid,
enhanced exhaust system consisting of Hooker ceramic headers and a
custom dual straight back exhaust system with original style cans
and tips and had the catalytic convertor removed with twin pipes
out back and a great sound.
The engine bay is highly original with valve covers as well as
power four-wheel disc brakes, power steering wheel, correct blue
engine enamel on the engine and backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic
transmission with firmer shifts due to the B&M shift kit, and
riding on the 255/60/15 Cooper Cobra white-letter radial tires on
chrome Corvette wheels.
The stock carb, engine parts, and factory wheels it came with are
included in the sale boxes.
Interior
The 40,456 miles shown are believed authentic as you can see on the
engine, chassis, and the interior. It has a Claret Red leather
interior that looks very original with many options including power
windows, power locks, a tilt/telescopic wheel, and factory A/C
that's been converted to R134a refrigerant.
The original AM/FM/Cassette radio has been removed and is in a box
if you wish to reinstall it and a later stereo system has been
added.
Other features include a leather-wrapped steering wheel, factory
center console that houses the automatic shifter, factory dash with
all the Corvette gauges, matching Claret door panels, plush Claret
colored carpets, seatbelts, and an unbroken armrest.
Exterior
The C3 Corvettes were patterned after the Mako Shark II designed by
Larry Shinoda and built under Bill Mitchell's direction. The fender
flares were designed into the body contours, egg-crate grills with
matching front fender side vents and larger squared front
directional lamp were standard.
Our Corvette is covered in the Dark Claret Red factory paint in
2000 and has been garage kept and well preserved since and looks
great with its deep gloss and shine.
It has the Corvette hatchback that greatly improved the
aerodynamics, the chin spoiler up front, the ducktail spoiler out
back, and the T-tops up top. The trim looks good with the
blacked-out rocker panels as does the Corvette badges and
fiberglass stylish front and rear ends.

legend, you can't go wrong with the beautiful Dark Claret Red
modified 1980 Corvette that we have here at Skyway Classics.
