The Aerosedan is one good looking car. The sloping roof line and
abundance of trim make it something special. Same owner the last 38
years. North Carolina car that was shown and enjoyed. The last few
years it was parked so we had the car inspected and serviced. We
spent $8,039 on things like brakes, tune up and much more right
down to replacing burnt out bulbs in the dash. It is now ready to
go.
EXTERIOR: Rust free, damage free body. All clean metal that is
straight and fits nice. The paint has a gloss but also has pimples
due to age. The bumpers with bumper gaurds and wing tips were
rechromed. The stainless is straight. The horizontal moldings on
the fenders add to it's sleek look. It is also decked out with spot
light, fog lamp, window visors and more. The glass is original. The
whitewalls look great but have been on the car for several years.
It has deluxe trim rings and hubcaps. The weatherstrips are soft.
The lights work, taillight sockets were replaced.
INTERIOR: Overall very nice, unabused condition. The seats have
good cushions and the pinstripe upholstery is excellent. The door
panels, window cranks and handles are excellent. The headliner and
visors are also very nice, no stains or holes. It has correct
rubber mat in front with carpet in back. The painted on wood grain
is original with patina. Overall the dash, knobs, gauges, steering
wheel are very nice. It has a very cool Chevrolet tissue dispenser.
New headlight and horn switches. Bulbs in the gauges were
replaced.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The head was pulled and reconditioned. The 6
cylinder motor runs smooth. We rebuilt the carb, new fuel pump and
filter. New plugs, points, coil, regulater and battery. Rebuilt
generator. Upgraded with a new aluminum radiator, replaced water
pump and hoses. The motor compartment is very clean and painted
nicely. Wiring looks good.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Big trunk is solid. It has original rubber mat
and cardboard side panels, overall good with some cracks and age.
It has a spare and jack.
UNDERSIDE: Rock solid metal floors and frame. No signs of rust,
rot, repairs or patches. The frame isn't even pitted. North
Carolina car. Brakes were adjusted and bled, new master cylinder
and hoses. The fuel tank was removed and repaired. Rear links and
shocks were replaced.
This is one of the most stylish cars of that era. This one is a
really good car because it has never been rusted, it's not abused
and it is serviced. Not a perfect restoration but it has the right
amount of patina to give you that vintage antique vibe. I like it
just the way it is!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
