Vehicle Description

1932 Ford Roadster - Red over Tan - 350 V8 - Automatic Transmission (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 1932 Ford Roadster on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, it's possible that you've only seen some of our many photographs of the car due to third-party website limitations. Iconic '32 Ford is a Hot Rodder's Dream Platform €" The Engine Block website, December 2017] The Engine Block website called it this way: Such timeless cars typically have three things in common: beautiful styling, thrilling performance, and a pristine level of innovation. We'll argue this fact with anyone, but there is practically no greater classic hot-rodding superstar than the '32 Ford. The smooth American lines were attractive from the factory and downright sexy when tweaked by hot rodders. A flathead V8 engine finally gave the masses access to an affordable level of power. That's a significant milestone in automotive history. Its powerplant served as the mechanical foundation for imaginative gearheads wanting to go after competition victories and all-out speed records. Offered here is a respectfully restored, tastefully modified, and performance-enhanced 1932 Ford Roadster in red over tan. The quality of the work-inside and out, top to bottom-is first-rate yet restrained, particularly on the exterior: no added flame graphics, no outlandish paint, no excessive body alterations. The car's odometer shows 21,914 miles. The exterior non-metallic red paint has been expertly applied. The finish is uniformly smooth with excellent luster and no sign of fading or other degradation. Very handsome pinstriping graces the hood and rear deck with an additional double-stripe surrounding the body. Thesheet metal (sans fenders) is free of any damage, dents, or imperfections. The car's body has been lowered overall and raked slightly to the front. Chrome headlights, beautiful front-grille trim, windshield and original taillight trim all show bright, patina-free finishes. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) Weld Racing® 5-rectangular-opening, polished-metal wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich® Touring T/A tires in staggered sizes front and rear. There's an undeniable American Grafitti vibe to the look. Inside, a number of custom and comfort upgrades have been fitted without abandoning the period feel. A new bench seat is upholstered in tan leather with a vertically pleated design. Door trim incorporates the same leather in an appealing arched, art-deco design pattern. Floors feature plush tan carpet. A leather-rimmed, brush-metal-trimmed, 3-spoke sport steering wheel with riveted center and ididit® emblem frames a full array of vintage-look VDO® instruments. The gauges are laid out horizontally across the brushed-metal dashboard panel which features a large Ford V8 logo embossed in the metal. To the right, audio controls are mounted below the dash. The shift lever for the automatic transmission is located on the steering column. Under the open-sided hood, a fresh, 350-cubic-inch V8, enhanced with custom, forged, finned valve covers, chrome custom air-cleaner, billet-aluminum hardware, and racing-style exhaust headers makes for a powerfully engaging display. The engine bay is perfectly tidy and spotlessly clean. Viewed from below, the chassis is every bit as clean and perfectly fitted as the remainder of the car. Custom, full-length dual exhaust, immaculate lower sides of the automatic transmission and engine, and fully upgraded suspension components all compete for attention. The chassis is absolutely straight, undamaged, and complete. While the more than 135 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the Ga
