The Ford motor company introduced the Thunderbird in 1955 and
continued over the course of eleven-model generation through 2005.
It created a market niche that was brand new to the automotive
scene and eventually was marketed and known as the personal luxury
car.
The fourth generation like the car we are offering here was built
from 1964-1966. As before it was offered in hardtop, convertible,
and Landau versions. The standard engine was the 390 cubic inch V8
offering 300 HP and was paired to a 3-speed automatic transmission.
Only in 1966 was an optional 428 cubic inch V8 producing 345 HP
offered for this generation.
