1968 Chevrolet C10 Pickup professionally built to show and go!
Beautiful paint, LS power, 6 piston brakes, EFI, and expert
craftsmanship.
LaFontaine Classic Cars is proud to present this outstanding custom
1968 Chevy C10 pickup built with countless hours invested and no
expense spared. The bed and cab sheet metal received many hours of
blocking and sanding prep work before the awesome ""Destroyer
Gray"" color was sprayed, wet sanded, wheeled, and polished to a
brilliant finish that attracts attention everywhere it goes. To
finish off the exterior, new factory chrome bumpers were installed
along with new door handles, front grill, headlight bezels, and new
light lenses front and rear. The headlight system consists of
aftermarket projection bulbs with ""halo"" options for a modern
look.
Power comes from a GM Vortec 6.0L LS engine fitted with shorty
headers, modular ""Chevrolet"" valve covers, Holley mid-ram intake
manifold, with an aftermarket engine front accessory drive system
with A/C. Ignition control is provided by the popular, retrofitted,
GM EFI system that has been calibrated and optimized for both power
and excellent drivability. To keep the engine at its proper
temperature, a Ron Davis aluminum radiator was installed with
custom stainless steel radiator hoses and custom flexible
connections. The dual electric fans are controlled by the GM ECU
and move enough air to keep the 6-liter cool in bumper-to-bumper
traffic. Transferring power to the rear is a 4L60E 4-speed
automatic transmission (with external cooler), connected to the
factory GM 12 bolt truck rear end equipped with performance,
aftermarket Moser axles, spinning 3.73 gears - the perfect ratio
for performance and drivability. Rolling stock consists of
staggered-width 20? Forgeline wheels finished in gray with polished
lips wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires measuring 245/45/20
up front and 275/40/20 out back. Stopping power is provided by
Wilwood 6-piston calipers up front, 4-piston out back, with
cross-drilled and slotted rotors on all four corners, stainless
steel brake lines, and a Wilwood billet master cylinder completes
the system.
Looking underneath you will find the heavily detailed
undercarriage. The front suspension consists of new shocks, tubular
upper and lower control arms with coil springs, new bushings
throughout, heavy duty sway bar, with updated steering components
providing a tight, responsive, driving experience. Out back are
refurbished trailing arms, also with new bushings and hardware,
aluminum block drop kit to achieve the proper stance, with new coil
springs and shocks spec'd to contribute to the smooth ride and
excellent handling. Wrapping up the underside is a beautiful, 304
stainless steel custom exhaust system using stainless steel Borla
mufflers for the perfect sound note, exiting just in front of the
rear bumper. Under the rear of the bed is a stainless-steel fuel
tank with integrated EFI fuel pump, Aeromotive billet fuel filter
with stainless steel lines to last the life of the truck. Fuel fill
is a simple twist-in cap accessed on the top side of the bed.
The interior features a comfortable, factory style bench seat
upholstered in red vinyl with cloth houndstooth seating surfaces
along with matching door panel inserts and carpets. The dash, along
with the other metal surfaces, are painted in gloss red to blend
in, yet contrast the gray exterior. Creature comforts includes
Vintage Air air-conditioning, hidden Bluetooth system, lockable
glovebox, tilt steering, power steering, and upgraded shoulder/lap
seat-belts. The Billet Specialties steering wheel is mounted to an
aftermarket steering column mounted just below the Dakota Digital
in-dash gauge cluster displaying in digital or analog modes.
