For Sale: 1974 Plymouth Cuda in Lutz, Florida

Vehicle Description

This is one of the last great muscle machines. So that's why they made sure to restore this 1974 Plymouth 'Cuda with all the best updated Mopar goodies. So everything from the slick Viper paint to the fuel-injected 440 motor under the hood is part of a thoughtful and powerful total package.

There were some pretty awesome colors for Mopar in the 1970s. They were part of the legend that made cars like the 'Cuda one of the boldest muscle machines you could bring to the streets. So we love that this restored coupe now takes that spirit into the modern era. As the name suggests, Viper Blue metallic was borrowed from a more modern street-eating Mopar. The ultra-sleek presentation lets the sunlight highlight how great the body panels look. You have all the best sporty details, like the twin-scoop hood, Rallye wheels, form-hugging bright chrome bumpers, and wide exhaust tips mounted through the rear valance. And the iconic hockey stick stripe with 440 callouts was clear-coated over for lasting quality. As you look over the full package, you can really see a ton invested in the details, and we know exactly why. The BS-code in the VIN tells us this is a real-deal Cuda, and 1974 was the final model year. This example has been under the same care for nearly a decade. But the full restoration was a much more recent undertaking with under 325 miles on it since completion.

Open the door, and it's everything you want to see. After all, black interiors look great on muscle cars, and the fresh restoration means this looks terrific on the high-backed bucket seats, door panels, dash, and headliner. You get cool classic Mopar elements like the dual-spoke sports steering wheel and form-fitting center console with a T-handle shifter. There are good classic details, including the wood-like trim, round gauges, and working dome light. There's even factory air conditioning just waiting for servicing and upgraded to R134a. And this also has the right more modern additions to make it a better cruiser. It includes an AM/FM/CD stereo, added Dynamat insulation in the ultra-clean trunk, and an oil pressure gauge under the dash.

The fender and callouts did not disguise what lies within this 'Cuda. Power comes from a 440 cubic-inch V8. You may already know these engines were not available from the factory in '74, but this car was just too good not to get a big block. And you can tell there was a ton invested to make sure it was ready to be showcased on day one. And when you look beyond the tidy and polished style, you're going to see plenty of added substance. It has been enhanced and fortified with a Lunati Voodoo camshaft, roller rockers, Lunati pushrods, ported Mopar aluminum heads, an Edelbrock intake, Dougs ceramic-coated long tube headers. It's topped with FiTech fuel injection for the best in power and consistency. There are also nice supporting components, like an MSD distributor, finned Mopar valve covers, and a large aluminum radiator. Delivery of all this power is quite good thanks to the stout A727 Torqueflite three-speed automatic transmission that feeds a limited-slip rear end with Richmond 3.55 gears. Control is well in hand with power steering, power brakes w/discs up front, and wide BF Goodrich T/As.

There were less than 5k examples of the 'Cuda made when Plymouth shut the door on this legend nearly a half-century ago. So it's awesome to find a distinctive year freshly restored to be an even larger standout. This is a vintage stunner of significance, call today!
