Coronet Was Classic Muscle €" MotorCities.org, December 2016 The
website went on with Coronet Super Bee facts: The Dodge Coronet...
'Super Bee'... was a surprise winner within the consumer market....
The Coronet 440 series was a No. 1 seller among the 1969 Dodge
lineup.... The Super Bee models also offered special body features
such as a stylish racing-type fiberglass hood panel, with a
functional hood scoop and a great looking six-pack logo which gave
the model that high performance racing design.... The Coronet Super
Bee was easily identifiable by the racing stripes that had wrapped
around the tail section of the rear end which most consumers
thoroughly enjoyed.... Collectible Automobile magazine had once
stated of the 1969 Coronet, 'The car was an instant hit. Dodge
performance fans begged dealers for it and by the spring of 1968,
they got it.' Offered here in bright red with a black vinyl top and
matte-black hood over black, is an exceptionally well-maintained,
beautifully refreshed-condition '69 Dodge Coronet Super Bee with
the highly desirable 440 Magnum Six-Pack V8. The current odometer
reading is 99,981 miles, or just under 2,000 miles per-year on
average since new. In every respect, the car's appearance and
condition is virtually showroom new; this is pure American Muscle.
The exterior bright red non-metallic paint is the original color
and was an excellent choice to highlight the attractive mid-size
body and especially its nicely sculpted, twin-brake-cooling-scoop
flanks. The refreshed application resulted in a perfect, evenly
glossy finish across the entire car. (To best assess the quality of
the paint and trim finishes, be sure to view the close-up
photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) There is no
damage to the sheet metal; no dings , dents, or abrasions. All the
tasteful chrome trim is in virtually flawless condition, as are the
bumpers. The blackout front grille is complemented with a similarly
styled taillight treatment on the rear deck. Super Bee graphics are
in place on both the car's flanks with black stripes across the
rear deck. A Super Bee emblem is prominent on the driver's side of
the front grille with another emblem on the rear deck. Cabin glass
is clear and undamaged; lighting lenses (including the yellow
driving lights) are free of cracks. Polished CenterLine® wheels are
mounted with Mickey Thompson® performance tires. Inside, vertically
pleated black-vinyl upholstery on the front split-bench and rear
bench seats shows virtually no wear or other faults. (The rear
bench seat has been removed to allow for the installation of a
padded roll bar, but is included in the sale.) Black carpeting
covers the floors with embroidered Super Bee protective carpet mats
in place. A Dodge Division logo is embossed on the nicely trimmed
black door panels (also free of damage or wear indications). The
black dash features a 150-mph speedometer, engine-monitoring
gauges, and an analog clock-tach combination arranged horizontally.
A SunPro® Super Tach II 8,000-rpm tachometer is mounted on the
steering column and auxiliary oil pressure and digital coolant
temperature gauges are mounted below the dash. The stock black
3-spoke steering wheel center-cap shows the Dodge Division logo,
and the automatic-transmission shift lever is column-mounted. (The
automatic transmission has been rebuilt with a 3,500-rpm torq
