The same couple has owned this car since 1988! It has some
unexpected upgrades too. While retaining it's vintage look and feel
it is now much more usable. Air conditioning, front disc brakes, 12
volt electrical and much more was added.
EXTERIOR: Completely solid body, there's no rust, damage or problem
areas showing up after 30 years. It has it's original 3 rib fender
skirts. Repainted it's original Alpine Blue color, it is still
smooth and glossy but over the years it has picked up some nicks
and chips. Beautiful rechromed grill and bumpers. The stainless
moldings are shiny but have some dents. Weatherstrips are still
soft. The glass is original, the windows have been tinted. The
tires are radial whitewalls on painted rims with deluxe trim.
INTERIOR: LeBaron Bonney interior except for the rear seat is
original. The front seat, door panels, door welting and headliner
were replaced. It has carpet in back and a rubber mat in front. The
dash area is really nice looking- the trim, knobs, speedometer are
all excellent. The air conditioning was mounted neatly below the
dash. The clock was converted to quartz movement. There's a stereo
in the glove box.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The Flathead motor was rebuilt and bored 20
over, it has an Isky roller cam and roller lifters, the heads were
milled. It also has Fenton headers and electronic ignition.
Upgraded 100 amp alternator instead of a generator. Heavy duty
radiator with push and pull electric fans.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid trunk is complete with the rubber mat.
Original spare and jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: Rock solid original floors with the factory under coat.
The dual exhaust of course has glass pack mufflers. The brakes were
rebuilt. It has an electric fuel pump. Looking up at the motor it
is very clean. The Ford-o-matic transmission was completely
rebuilt. U-joints were replaced.
I thought it was so cool when a lovely couple drove this car on to
our lot. They started showing me their scrap book of this car and
there they were in pictures over 30 years ago working on this car
together. This car meant a lot to them. They enjoyed and cared for
it 33 years! Now it's your turn.
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
