For Sale: 1966 Dodge Coronet in Lithia Springs, Georgia

Vehicle Description

Radiant paint and an awesomely coordinated color combo make this restored 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 instantly attractive. But that stance tells you there's something more going on here. So you may want to skip ahead to all the photos and info on the 426 Hemi V8 with dual four-barrel carbs on top that make this coupe a street-eater, too.

The blue paint is an awesome way this one grabs your attention. Its vivid color is made even more attractive by the metallic element. So it looks great today, and if they ask you to take a prime spot at the car show, it's just a professional detail away from popping in the sunlight like a calendar car. We especially love the 1966 Coronet because it was restyled for added substance. It has a wide stance that can make this intermediate look full-sized. There's plenty of style touches like the creases along the side that flare out on the quarters, and that cool taffy-pulled rear end that couldn't space out D-O-D-G-E any wider if it tried. And the intimidation factor of the Coronet's design is heightened further on this one with the lowered stance and the Torq Thrust wheels aggressively staggered 18/20 inches front/rear. Even with this intimidating style, there seems to be an added sophistication to this one, too. It's in everything from the shine of the chrome bumpers to the bright white vinyl roof.

For the same reason the white vinyl top looks so good against the blue is why you're also going to love the pearl white interior. There's a nice intricate pattern on the seats that's continued on the doors to add a little more of that sophisticated style that makes this coupe look distinct. Just like the exterior, there are some touch-up areas for those looking for flawless, but really, the overall impression here is the right mix of stunner that's still a driver. And vintage lovers will appreciate details, like the classic steering wheel and the AM radio that's still on display. But what makes this Coronet great is that it offers plenty of space for everyone while still focusing on the driver. Front bucket seats, under-dash auxiliary readouts, and an artful center console with added tach all make this a classic that's ready for the road.

One look under the hood, and you know the fender callouts weren't lying. It's hard to find a more desirable Mopar than one with a 426 Hemi V8 so cleanly nestled in-between the fender wells. This was an upgrade later in life, but the motor has the correct presentation, right down to the double-bump air grabber that has the dual four-barrel carburetors underneath. It's a mean V8, and this one makes it known from the moment you twist the key. It fires up with gusto as the big dual exhaust pipes and Flowmaster have a high-octane soundtrack. The Torqueflite A727 three-speed automatic transmission is famous for being stout enough for big power machines like this. Plus, you have great anytime driving features, like power steering, front disc brakes, and grippy ZR-rated tires.

This is a terrific hardtop with a well-crafted look, right down to the painted undercarriage. So when you want a serious power Mopar Hemi classic, you know you're looking at a true stunner. Call today!!!
