Vehicle Description
Big block power and a tall 4x4 stance make this 1961 Chevrolet K20
an imposing and capable machine. But what this classic pickup
really does best is show off a clean and thorough restoration
within its beefy style.
White is a timeless color, and when it's part of a later
restoration, it even lends some sophistication to a tall and
imposing brute like this 4x4. Then again, there's an overall level
of added refinement in a classic that has such straight panels to
show off the curved indent starts at the tail light, flows up the
body, around the front, and back to the other taillight. It's
almost like you can fit a lucky horseshoe right into the body.
Bright chrome bumpers, plenty of nice trim, and we love how the
crystal clear headlights help showcase the upgrade to a GMC chrome
grille. Plus, the long bed means even more room to showcase the
glossy lumber. And the wheels are a terrific way to bring the full
capable and stylish package together. They are bright 17-inch units
that have the 8-lug pattern to remind you of the extra duty that
comes with this rarer K20 truck.
The exterior white returns inside, and it's now joined by red for a
bold and premium presentation. Everything from the comfy velour
seating to the full carpeting gives this truck an inviting feeling.
Plus, you have great upgrades, like an AM/FM/CD stereo with
Bluetooth and upgraded speakers. And the upgraded sports steering
wheel on a tilt column gives you a nice view of the clear
gauges.
Under the hood is a clean and mean V8. After all, a tidy big block
certainly backs up the feeling of a capable pickup. It's a 454
cubic-inch big block built with all the best pieces, including, an
Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, Weiand intake, and dual exhaust
with X-pipe and Flowmaster mufflers. So while this one looks too
pretty to get dirty, the big power motor is quite helpful when it's
time for 4x4 duty. This truck has a two-speed transfer case to
choose the right kind of off-road work, and the four-speed manual
transmission with low granny first makes for a very capable
machine. There's also meaty BF Goodrich meaty Mud-Terrain T/As for
a true off-road 4x4. But features like power steering and a fresher
suspension with good shocks make this a solid all-around
driver.
This is the classic truck with the right investments to be strong,
powerful, and also comfortable. That makes it the 4x4 you've always
wanted, and it's ready to run right now.
