Vehicle Description
This 1971 GMC Sprint has the extra-sharp style of a well-restored
and well-respected classic. The vibrant paint, bright chrome,
comfortable interior, strong small block, and car-like ride of this
pickup all come together to make for the kind of classic that's
built to get some serious attention when out on the streets.
We love the Sprint because of its distinction. After all, it shares
the body style with the El Camino, but these always get an extra
nod for both its rarity and being a true GMC pickup. It gets even
better on this one because it takes the idea of added distinction
to heart. It's a total package where you can see they took the time
to get it looking good, and it has been treated with the right care
ever since. The bright red paint radiates with quality, and its
shine also shows off the straightness of the sheet metal. And the
only elements to outshine the paint is all the terrific brightwork.
From-hugging chrome bumpers, bright bezels, and plenty of trim
outlining the distinct truck bed all give this a premium appeal.
Plus, this one even has some sporty upgrades. Black racing stripes
on the front, a blackout tailgate panel, a cowl hood, and rally
wheels with raised white letter tires make this Sprint look like a
Super Sport.
The black interior looks great against the red exterior. Part of
this attraction is a dark and clean presentation on the dash,
headliner, carpets, and seat. It has a look of quality, right down
to the little things, like the weather-stripping. There are some
cool vintage details, like the knob-style AM/FM radio and the
factory air conditioning is still in place (it will need servicing
to blow cold again.) Plus, it's set up to be a nice driver with the
wood-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, full round gauge package,
and auxiliary readouts neatly mounted under the dash.
The 350 cubic-inch V8 has the same clean look of quality as the
rest of this classic. So you can tell they want this one to be a
good driver. You even have a Quardajet four-barrel carburetor and
an Edelbrock intake. It's not made to be a stoplight race, but
instead, it gives you peppy power that also makes a nice tune out
of the dual exhaust. The three-speed automatic transmission, power
steering, power brakes, and a suspension shared with the Chevelle
are also part of what makes this classic GMC such a great
all-around cruiser.
This Sprint is a full package with distinction, flair, and quality.
