Vehicle Description
This 1955 Ford Crown Victoria is a beautifully restored example
with fantastic southern history. In 1955, Ford completely
redesigned the look and feel of its cars across its product lines.
New in 1955 was the top-of-the-line Fairlane models, which were
named for Ford's "Fair Lane" estate in Michigan, and these new
Fairlanes replaced the old Crestline models. The new-look Fairlane
was wider, flatter, and lower, giving the Fords a sleeker and more
up-to-date appearance. Wraparound windshields also became standard
equipment on all 1955 Ford models as well, giving drivers an even
better view while cruising down the road. Along with the debut of
the new '55 Fairlane a new iconic model was also introduced, the
Crown Victoria. Known for its eponymous "Crown" that stretched
across the top of the car along a non-structural B pillar, the
Crown Vic would become somewhat of an icon for Ford. This
particular Crown Victoria comes to us from an Arkansas-based
collector and spent time in New Mexico previously. Powering this
'55 Ford is an upgraded 292 Cubic Inch V8 engine that is paired
with a single 4 barrel carburetor. Anyone can drive this 1955 Crown
Victoria since the 292 V8 is hooked up to an Automatic
Transmission. Dual Exhaust gives this classic Ford a nice throaty
sound. The chrome and brightwork around the exterior of this Crown
Vic has a fantastic look. This 1955 Crown Victoria is a
well-optioned example as well. Power brakes provides plenty of
stopping power for all of that extra horsepower under the hood.
With Power Steering, getting in and out of those tight parking
spaces is made much easier. The exterior on this Ford Crown
Victoria has been refinished in its original color scheme of Raven
Black and Snowshoe White. Wide whitewall bias-ply tires with full
wheelcovers give this iconic Ford a nice classic look. The front
and rear bench seats have been correctly reupholstered in white
vinyl with black cloth inserts which give this Ford Crown Victoria
a nice period correct look. The dash, door panels and steering
wheel are all in wonderful shape and appear to be in their stock
configuration. The stock dash is equipped with a 120 MPH
speedometer, temperature gauge, and fuel gauge, along with an AM
radio and clock. Whether you're looking for your very first classic
or collectible car, or your garage is filled with many 50s Ford
cruisers, this 1955 Ford Crown Victoria would be an excellent
choice. Give us a call today!
