This 1965 Ford Mustang is an awesome way to enjoy quite a sporty
pony car. It has great classic elements with the bright Wimbledon
White paint and desirable GT-inspired trim. And it also upgrades
the performance feeling with a powerful V8 that can really growl
when you want it.
Wimbledon White is always an excellent choice on an early Mustang,
especially the coupes. This one looks particularly nice because
it's a later respray that makes the era-correct color really pop in
the sunshine. And the right fundamentals are looking good with
straight body panels, complete trim, and attractively bright
wraparound chrome bumpers. Plus, if you're interested in having a
bit of aggression with your pony car, then your eyes have been
locked on the correct GT-inspired touches. This includes the fog
lights in the grille, fender badges, red triple stripe on the
rockers, and the trumpeted dual exhaust integrated into the rear
valance. And those Cragar SS wheels with the larger and wider rear
set give this a more intimidating stance while still keeping a
vintage appearance.
The rocker stripes not only look great, but they're also a preview
of the interior. The seats, carpeting, door panels, and dash pad
all have deep red for an attractive appearance. There are nice
vintage pieces, like the working courtesy lights. Plus, there are
the right upgrades for a driver-ready coupe. It includes the added
oil pressure gauge and an AM/FM/CD stereo that provides upgraded
driving music. You'll slip behind the wood-rimmed steering wheel,
and Mustang fans will notice that this '65 has even been upgraded
to the GT's round gauges.
Since this has the right GT style, you'll be happy to lift the hood
and see solid V8 power. This is Ford's mighty 289 cubic-inch V8. It
loves upgrades, and so this one has an Edelbrock four-barrel
carburetor, an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock finned valve covers, an
upgraded distributor, and long tube headers feeding into the dual
exhaust. And if you've looked at the undercarriage photos, you've
also spotted the exhaust cutouts that can really make this GT
tribute rumble when you feel like a terrific V8 tune. Plus, the
three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, and front disc
brakes make for a solid all-around driver.
You can tell the right investments were made in this coupe. So when
something this distinctive and this complete is available in a
great iconic package, you know you need to hurry to grab this deal.
