Nissan stepped up its game within the sportscar market in 1990 with
the introduction of the new Z32 Generation Fairlady Z, now called
the 300ZX. The body would be wider, rounder, and possess a much
smoother shape. It would also carry the most state-of-the-art
technology available at the time for the top end Twin Turbo model.
Creating 300 horsepower, the 3.0L DOHC 24-valve V6 was fitted with
two Garrett AiResearch turbocharger with dual intercoolers. Mated
to a 5-speed manual transmission, it propelled the 300ZX to 60mph
in under 6 seconds! These special cars also had Anti-Lock Brakes
with 4-piston front calipers along with Super HICAS (High Capacity
Actively Controlled Steering) rear wheel steering, first introduced
in the Nissan Skyline. It was quite advanced and named Motor
Trend's Import of the Year for 1990 and remained on their Top 10
List for all seven years it was offered in the United States.
Offered here is a superbly kept 1990 Nissan 300ZX Twin Turbo Coupe
finished in all original Aztec Red over Charcoal Cloth interior!
Boasting just 3 owners from new, it has been pampered for only
12,932 miles. It sold new from Pioneer Nissan-Datsun in Lubbock,
Texas and remained with the original owner thru 2018. Each of the
next two owners would hold onto it for one year, both taking
advantage of the growing collector market for original JDM cars in
this condition. It features all the options to include removable
glass T-tops, automatic climate control, power windows/locks/heated
mirrors, 8-way adjustable driver seat, dual Sport/Touring
suspension modes, cruise control, carpeted floor mats, rear window
defrost with wiper, upgraded Sony AM/FM/CD/XM/AUX radio unit with
Kenwood speakers, and rear cargo sunshade.
The most recent enthusiast owner purchased this car in July 2019
with 10,390 miles on the odometer and installed a new battery and
Pirelli PZero Rosso tires that October. He would wait until the
summer of 2020 to carry out a no expense spared comprehensive
service to ensure it would perform to his high standards. This
included new timing belt/tensioner, new BDE Performance VTC intake
cam gears, timing sprocket gear, camshaft/crankshaft seals, idler
pulleys, new water pump, thermostat, coolant bypass hoses/clamps,
new starter, new transmission & engine mounts, brake fluid flush,
full synthetic oil change with performance oil filter, a/c
conversion to R134a, and new air filters! All parts are OEM Nissan
components with exception to the improved BDE cam gears.
The transmission was removed to install a new McLeod Stage I
Supremacy Street Tuner clutch, improved Heavy Duty cast iron clutch
fork & springs, Nismo pilot bearing, stainless steel clutch cable,
and chromoly shortened pivot ball. The suspension would receive new
OEM front and rear shock absorbers, front sway bar end links, and
SPL Titanium Pro adjustable rear upper control arms along with full
alignment. A gorgeous Megan Racing stainless steel cat-back exhaust
system with round tips really adds a nice look and sound! More
recently in July 2021, all 6 fuel injectors were upgraded to the
newer OEM 380cc style with adapter kit. All parts were sourced
through Concept Z Performance in Phoenix, AZ and installed
professionally by Lithgow Automotive Inc.
These early 300ZX cars are among the most desirable as they did not
come equipped with driver airbag, which slightly reduced the
overall weight of the cars as compared to later versions. It will
come complete with original Bose radio head unit, owner's manual,
multiple keys, T-top shades & storage bags, untouched spare &
inflator, original jack & lug wrench, all recent service records,
and damage-free CarFax report. According to the supplemental window
sticker, which included a $2000 dealer markup, listed originally
for $37,333. These are remarkable cars to drive, and this 300ZX
Twin Turbo is no exception! Finding one of this caliber with such
low milage is no easy task in today's market! So many of these cars
have fallen victim to tasteless aftermarket modifications and
abused on the streets. Do not hesitate with this special Z32 Twin
Turbo if you have been looking for collector quality example! It
will not last long!
