For Sale: 1968 Chevrolet Camaro in Mooresville, North Carolina

Vehicle Description

HIGHLIGHTS: Striking red with black top and black stripe! Head turner! Factory SS396 car believed to be matching numbers!

BODY OVERVIEW: The body is clean and straight, showing that this car has been cared for since it was restored. Believe it or not, this car has been restored for 20+ years and still looks great! The body lines are crisp and sharp, and this Camaro is bound to turn some heads!

PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: During the restoration, this car was resprayed in its factory colors. This is no low-budget respray! Kept aesthetically true to original form, the only major cosmetic change is the addition of chrome rally wheels. The paint is in good condition showing minimal wear, but due to the age of the repaint it is lifting and showing some defects in certain areas. That said, this car does not necessarily need a repaint.

INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: Step inside this Camaro and the original style hits you once again. Returned to factory correct, the black vinyl & houndstooth seating is in excellent condition, and the perfect match for the exterior color. Even the SS steering wheel and factory AM radio are in place!

MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood is a very healthy 396 big block which appears to be the correct, original engine for this car! When the engine was rebuilt during the restoration, the block was decked meaning material was shaved off the head mating surfaces including the engine stamp pad. Fortunately, the stamp pad is still barely legible and appears to identify this as the correct and matching engine for this car. With the exception of an aluminum radiator, the engine bay retains a highly original look and presents very well. The engine is hooked up to a 4-speed manual transmission, and driving this car is a thoroughly enjoyable experience!

WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: This Camaro has the right look and is a true American icon. The red and black exterior is sure to break some necks!

WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: If you're looking for a fresh restoration with piles of receipts, this Camaro may not be a good choice.

DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? The AM radio and reverse lights are not currently operational.

WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Anyone looking for an eye-catching, numbers-matching, head turning American icon!
