The numbers-matching big block, correct color combo, and low
mileage headline this 1972 Chevrolet Corvette. And as you look at
the full package, you'll see a terrific vintage attitude with the
right investments added to make for a good all-around classic.
The distinction of this coupe starts with the paint. The factory
name for this was called Classic White, and so they already knew
this kind of color would make this coupe timeless from day one.
There was even a professional respray later in life to keep it
looking glossy and notable. Fickle people may see a few signs that
this was driven, because after all, Corvettes are made to be
enjoyed. But when you have a coupe that's approaching the
half-century mark, and it still has only averaged about 1,500 miles
annually, then you know this has seen long-term respect. It gives
you that feeling of extra care as you take a look at the clean
lines and good panels. Plus, 1972 would be the last year for the
full brightwork presentation, and this one celebrates this with a
big shine on the angular front bumper, two-piece rear, and an added
luggage rack. The total package makes for a coupe that's quite
memorable.
The factory-correct saddle brown interior makes a nice standout
against the white exterior. It has the appeal of premium leather
and the stock look of a true classic. In fact, most of the interior
fundamentals look like the original pieces. It has all aged into a
nice patina, and we find that quite attractive. If you think
differently, there are replacements readily available. But the
heart of the appeal here is that you have a true classic that also
has the best features. This includes power windows, a tilt steering
column, and a retro-style AM/FM digital tuner w/aux input. The
factory air conditioning has been upgraded to modern R134a
refrigerant, but it will need servicing to ideally blow cold again.
And you can open this full package to the world with the T-tops and
removable rear window.
The performance hood with 454 callouts isn't lying, and so
underneath it is the numbers-matching big block. This has a great
stock look with the big orange block, shining distributor shield,
and even the correct-style Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. But
this has also been treated to the right maintenance over the years,
including a new gas tank in 2021, a newer A/C compressor, and the
addition of dual electric fans. This mighty motor makes a nice
rumble from the dual exhaust. And the TH400 three-speed
transmission is the right mix of stout construction and easy
automatic shifting. Plus, you have power steering, four-wheel power
disc brakes, and a fully independent suspension to all make this a
great all-around driver.
This is a well-done classic, and that means it has the right
paperwork, too. It includes the original warranty card, dealer
invoice, owner's manual, build receipts, and maintenance records.
When a great driver is also a solid all-around classic, you know
you need it in your garage. Call today!!!
