Ok....This is not the Dr. Pepper that you are probably thinking
about but this car has been owned by a Dr. Pepper that was a ER
Trauma Surgeon in the Chicago area since 1988. This was his daily
driver so, yes it has some bumps and bruises, some stains and
scratches and could use an overall cosmetic restoration if you so
desire....Or, buy the cheapest 560 SL on the market and just drive
the wheels off of it. This thing drives and rides very nice with no
smoke or leaks and has no "dummy" lights on the dash. These 560's
were so much more trouble free than some of the earlier cars with
some problematic fuel management systems. Although not a complete
set of service records, the maintenance book was kept up to date
for a while through M-B dealers and it also has a clean carfax,
owners manuals and all keys from the factory. The soft top is
completely shot...its there but not usable in its current
condition. The hard-top goes on and off as it should and is in nice
condition. The seats are faded and the carpets are stained.
Honestly, after putting some miles on this 560, I would hesitate to
drive it as is. The brakes feel good, the driveline feels solid but
the tires should probably be switched out before any long distance
drives.
