Vehicle Description
This award-winning 1964 custom Corvette was built by the talented
craftsmen at Chris Holstrom Concepts in Puyallup, WA. A fresh build
with only test miles, this project has in excess of 2,400 labor
hours from start to finish. Once featured as the "Firey Fuelie" in
MotorTrend magazine on March 16, 2011, this car received a complete
makeover into the full Pro-Touring Resto-Mod you see here. It now
sits on a new Art Morrison GT Sport Chassis with AME multilink
independent rear suspension and AME sport independent front
suspension with coilovers all around and power rack & pinion
steering. Subtle but important body modifications include widening
the front and rear fenders to make room for the massive 275/30/19
front and 325/30/19 rear red line tires mounted on new Forgeline
wheels. The front fender air vents have been modified for full
functionality and the bumpers have been cut, tucked and re-chromed.
Power comes from a new Blueprint LS3 engine that has been bored and
stroked to 427ci (7.0 liters) equipped with CNC heads and Borla
Stack Injection. The engine is backed by a new TREMEC T56 Magnum
6-speed manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch connected to a
Dana 60 rear-end. Stopping power comes from Baer Brakes with
14-inch drilled and slotted rotors at all four corners. New side
pipe covers, coated exhaust pipes and a crossover pipe handle the
exhaust notes. A hand-fabricated all-steel engine bay and smoothed
firewall, radiator, fans and serpentine belt system are some
additional improvements. The car has new glass and is equipped with
power headlamps, power windows, power e-brake, Dakota Digital
gauges, Vintage Air climate control and a tilt column fitted with a
MOMO wood steering wheel. This custom Corvette is covered in
beautiful thick Ferrari Red paint. Inside, is a custom-designed
leather finished in two-tone black and saddle and complemented with
a high-end Bluetooth audio system. It is a Goodguys 2021 Pacific NW
Builders Choice Top Ten award winner and was included in the 2021
Chevrolet Performance Builder of the Year award nominations. It was
also showcased in a Fuel Curve feature article in November 2021.
