Vehicle Description
A member of the hypercar "Holy Trinity," this is one of only 918
examples of Porsche's premiere hybrid hypercar produced. One of the
final 2015 918s delivered, this example is finished in white over a
red leather interior. Using technology from Porsche's motorsport
division, the 918 is powered by a naturally aspirated 4.6-liter V8
engine derived from the RS Spyder LMP2 race car and paired with
Porsche's 7-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. The high-revving
flat-plane crank V8 produces 608hp at 8,700 rpm and works in
concert with two electric motors located on both the front and rear
axles, that produce a total of 282hp. Combined, the 918 has a total
power output of 887hp and 944 ft/lbs of torque. In an independent
test by Car and Driver, the all-wheel drive Porsche hit a 0-60 mph
time of 2.2 seconds and a 9.8 second sprint down the quarter-mile.
The electric motors use a liquid-cooled 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery
positioned aft of the passenger cell, allowing the Spyder to hit an
EPA-rated 12 miles of all-electric range and a hybrid equivalent of
67 mpg. The Spyder uses a carbon-fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP)
monocoque chassis and rides on magnesium wheels wrapped in sticky
Michelin rubber. The wheels measure 20x9.5 inches at the front and
21x12.5 inches at the rear. Braking power is provided by 16.1-inch
brake rotors at the front and 15.4-inch rotors at the rear. This
particular car has 377 actual miles, features several factory
options, including a full interior carbon-fiber package and
front-axle lift system. All paperwork is included, as well as the
books and keys.
