Vehicle Description
1958 Cadillac Series 62
The Series 62, marketed as the Sixty-Two, was a model introduced by
Cadillac and produced from 1940 to 1965. Cadillac was known for
luxury and their high end vehicles came equipped with all of the
latest and greatest features available for the time. This very nice
1958 Cadillac Series 62 is the 4 door extended sedan model
stretching these already large vehicles to 225.3 inches. It belongs
to the 5th generation which was only around for 2 years. This very
cool Cadillac is a 1 family owned vehicle and is truly a survivor
car. It is all original from top to bottom. With a little TLC this
nice Cadillac could be one of the coolest classics around. The body
is solid and doesn't appear to have any bad eating through rust
issues. It wears its original Versailles Green (Code 32) and
Acadian Green (Code 30) two tone paint job. All of the original
chrome and trim is in good condition throughout. One really cool
feature offered on these Cadillacs was the hidden fuel gauge under
the passenger tail light which is typically only found on mid 50s
Chevys. All of the glass is in good condition and tinted. On the
drivers side is a nice chrome side mirror that is remotely
controlled from inside the car which is a pretty high tech feature
considering this was made in 1958. The car has a nice stance and
rides on its original wheels with Cadillac hubcaps and wide white
wall tires.
Powering this large classic down the road is its original 365 ci
motor paired with a Hydramatic transmission. The areas of the car
that needs attention is the horn, clock, shocks, fuel pump, exhaust
pips/hangers, radio, AC and the power antenna. Some of the nice
luxury features include power brakes and power steering which make
it a very smooth car to cruise around in.
The interior features its original Green upholstery which is in
impressive condition considering its age. The dash is painted in
Green to match and topped with all of its original chrome accents.
Another nice feature this Cadillac has to offer is the factory
power windows and power seats. It even has what is known as the
autotronic eye which automatically dims the headlights when it
detects oncoming traffic at night. Goes to show that Cadillac was
definitely ahead of its time. The trunk of it has plenty of storage
space and houses the original spare and jack.
This is a really neat car especially considering its originality.
With a little elbow grease it could be given a new life on the
road.
