history is unknown, this Healey was sold to its most recent owner
in 1994 after previous long-term ownership. At time of purchase,
the Healey was disassembled being prepared for restoration. Its new
custodian, a writer for Healey Marque Magazine, continued the
process and carried out the full restoration.

and reassembled. The goal of the restoration was to not just create
a show-winning car, but a car that would be utmost reliable and
comfortable to drive to each show around the country. This BN1 was
upgraded to 100M Le Mans specification, including a Motolita
Derrington style wood steering wheel, louvred aluminum hood with
leather strap, cold air box, Mondial racing pistons, SC Parts
performance alloy cylinder head, stainless steel header & "big
bore" exhaust, twin SU H6 1-3/4 inch carbs and 100M camshaft. It
has also been fitted was an uprated anti-sway bar, Facet solid
state electric fuel pump and a Pertronix Flamethrower distributor
with integral electronic ignition. This BN1 retains its original
3-speed all-synchronized manual gearbox with electrically operated
Laycock de Normanville overdrive on second and third, resulting in
five forward speeds. Lastly, this BN1 utilizes later Healey 3000
BJ8 front disc brakes and rear drums.
Throughout the years, this Healey has enjoyed attending many Austin
Healey shows across the United States. After several miles of
pleasured ownership, this BN1 went through a $15,000
recommissioning by Jeffs Restorations in Texas including a fresh
repaint in its original Olde English White and a new windscreen.
Later on, a new tonneau cover was fitted, the heavy-duty
lever-action shock absorbers were rebuilt by Apple Hydraulics and
new leather seats were installed.
