Vehicle Description
16,876 original miles. Never seen rain or snow. Beautifully
preserved inside and out, top and bottom. Never used as a truck.
Seriously fast yet surprisingly agile for such a big brute. A
sure-fire future collectable that's a blast to drive.Einstein
argued that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing and
expecting different results. We respectfully disagree. The
definition of insanity is stuffing an 8.2 liter Viper V10 engine
into a Dodge Ram pickup truck. The result is this spectacular Flame
Red Ram SRT-10. With just under 17,000 original miles, it's
beautifully preserved and has obviously never been used as a daily
driver. The brilliant red paint is the same stuff they plastered
all over the original Viper, and if you're looking for subtle,
well, this ain't it. The SRT-10 got a deeper chin spoiler with
built-in fog lights, a massive hood scoop, more aggressive side
cladding, and a bumblebee stripe around the tail, so it definitely
looks the part of a muscle truck. There's a hard shell tonneau
cover that turns the bed into the world's biggest trunk and just in
case you missed everything else, there's a wing on top. Condition
is virtually as-new, with a deep shine to the paint and
surprisingly few signs of use or age-this is a 15-year-old truck,
after all. Dodge stylists did a great job of tying it all together
because the thing looks like a million bucks. Inside it's as much
Viper as the outside: deeply bolstered leather buckets with grippy
suede inserts are ready for the track rather than the job site.
White-faced gauges cover all the engine's vitals, and there's an
oil temperature gauge in an A-pillar pod just for added cool.
Everything was standard on the SRT-10, including a powerful A/C
system, power windows, mirrors, and locks, and a pretty darned good
entertainment system. And yes, that's a Hurst 6-speed shifter right
there in the middle of everything. This one is still so fresh that
the plastic wrap is on the mats and the airbag tag still hangs from
the glove box lid. A sliding rear window makes it comfortable
inside when you don't need the A/C (and makes that awesome exhaust
note easier to hear). There's a little storage behind the seats and
Dodge engineers were thoughtful about it, maximizing the standard
cab's utility. Nice!Does the big lump of aluminum under the hood
really need any introduction? It's wearing bright red Viper valve
covers, so it's not like it's trying to be anything other than an
8.2 liter V10. There's 505 horsepower on tap and an equally massive
pile of torque. So it'll incinerate those massive rear tires
without really trying. Unlike many of its siblings, this one
remains almost entirely stock save for a muffler upgrade to give it
just the right sound. Otherwise, it's as the factory intended,
including the air filter and electronics. It starts easily, idles
nicely, and doesn't really act like 2004's fastest truck in the
world. Underneath there's plenty of proof that this truck has never
seen foul weather, with original markings and finishes visible
throughout. Again, the only change was to the exhaust system, which
is now a true dual system exiting through a single chrome tip under
the bumper. It's definitely a Viper soundtrack. Handling is
impressive for something so large and tall, helped by a set of
expensive Bilstein shocks, including one to help tame axle wind-up
on top of the pumpkin housing. 4-wheel disc brakes are a wise idea
on something so explosively fast and those are some of the biggest
tires we've ever seen: 305/40/22 Pirelli Scorpion radials that were
original equipment on the SRT-10. Documentation includes all the
original factory manuals and books. They only built a little over
3000 of these awesome trucks, and now that the Viper has passed
along to the great garage in the sky, these are sure to join them
on collectors' short lists. The fact that it's a blast to drive
(you can't help but giggle when you blow off Mustangs in your
pickup truck) is only icing on a bright red cake. Call
