For Sale: 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

Correct 1970 Chevele 396-350 hp motor, # matching automatic and rear. Same owner 13 years. Exceptional body and paint.

EXTERIOR: It's a clean South Carolina car. The body is real straight everywhere with no signs of rust or damage. The doors, trunk and hood fit and hood fit square and flush, even in front by the headlight buckets where it's typically a problem. The bottom of the doors are clean. The cranberry red has a very smooth, glossy finish. Jambs are painted very nicely. The black stripes are painted on correctly. The weather strips were replaced. The convertible is a power black top in real nice shape. The frame was painted and weather strips were replaced. In front the bumper, lenses, bezels and grill are excellent. In back the bumper, taillights and SS pad were replaced. The original wheels are good, the tires have a lot of tread. The windshield looks new.

INTERIOR: Interior looks good. The carpet was replaced. The center console is real nice shape, the forward aluminum trim has some scratches. The seats have been reupholstered, door panels and armrests have been replaced. The dash pad was replaced, the instrument panel is not cut or broken. It has an Am-Fm radio and a tilt column. New steering wheel.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: It has a correct 1970 396-350 hp motor. It looks stock: valve covers, manifolds brackets, pulleys etc. It is upgraded with an HEI ignition system. It features power steering and power brakes.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Solid metal, I don't see any patches or splices. It is spatter painted. There's a mat, matching tire and SS wheel for a spare. Under the trunk lid and the jamb are painted gloss red. The weather strip was replaced. There is CD changer in the trunk.

UNDERSIDE: It has the F-41 suspension which includes front and rear sway bars and boxed rear control arms. It has air shocks in back. The dual exhaust has correct resonators in back and cow bell tips. Disc brakes in front, the calipers look recent. The fuel tank was replaced. It has vin # matching Turbo 400 automatic with correct 1970 tag riveted to it. Original 12 bolt rear end with 3.36 gears. Code CCW is unique to a 396 which is a good indicator of being a real SS car. The floors look like smooth clean metal.

This is a nice example of the most popular muscle car- a red 70 Chevelle SS. Oh yeah, the top goes down too!
