This is a meticulously built car in every regard. The fit and
finishes in and out; top to bottom are impressive. The car
functions superbly from doors that click shut to dual quads that
don't hesitate for a second. This car even has two 3 ring binders
neatly organized giving you all the info, specs and schematics.
EXTERIOR: Nosed and decked (trim removed from hood and trunk) and
shaved handles. The body is literally straight as an arrow. Look
down both sides, across the tops and you won't find a wrinkle. The
doors and trunk open by remote, they shut like new. Mirror finish
black pearl with a clearcoat and tribal flames. The paint is
polished out very smooth and glossy. It has a clear bra so you have
to worry about stone chips. The chrome has been replated
includingthe grill. The bumpers fit the body precisely. The
stainless has been straightened and polished. New smoked glass on
the sides. Jambs are painted very neatly, new weather strips and
highly polished sill plates. Newport Engineering electric wipers
upgrade. It rolls on BFG radial white wall tires with a mint set of
Lancer hubcaps.
INTERIOR: Very meticulously done and also very comfortable. Down on
the floor is real nice fitting carpet with bound edges. The seats
are genuine leather. They are wide bucket seats with armrests.
Driver's side is power, passenger side reclines. The rear seat was
made to match. Door panels were custom made and wrapped in leather.
They have billet handles and chrome power window switches. Cloth
headliner and matching visors dont have a wrinkle in them. Working
dome light. The metal trim inside is painted very smooth and
glossy. Really nice set of matching gauges. It has a tilt column
with billet levers and a 1940 Ford style steering wheel. Billet
Vintage Air heat and a/c control panel. There's a modern stereo
with speakers hidden in the door panels. 3 point retractable seat
belts for the front, lap belts in the back. Even inside the glove
box is done nicely. EZ wiring harness and fuse panel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: 402 Chevy big block was bored to a 408. Rebuilt
by Ray's Fabrication in El Cajon CA. It has an RV cam for better
torque, reworked heads and headers. It's a pretty sinister looking
engine compartment, everything's blacked out. It has a set of
Edelbrock finned aluminum valve covers, breather and air cleaner.
The intake, carbs, air conditioner and alternator are blacked out.
It also has power steering and power brake systems. Custom shroud,
a clutch fan and aluminum overflow bottle. Engine bay is painted
gloss black.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It's been completely boxed and carpeted. The
bottom of the trunk lid upholstered and has an embossed flame
pattern. The battery box and spare tire have cloth carpeted
covers.
UNDERSIDE: It has been body off the frame restored and is one of
the best detailed Mercury under carriages I've seen. The original
frame was powder coated. A Camaro front clip was grafted to the
frame. It was all rebuilt: bushings, ball joints, springs etc. It
has Bilstein gas shocks all around. Track Performance leaf springs
with polyurethane bushings in back. Upgraded brake system: discs at
all 4 wheels, the brake lines and hoses were replaced, custom
e-brake system. Custom aluminum fuel tank. New dual exhaust with
Dynomax mufflers, the tips go out through the valance. Looking up
at the motor it's clean and dry. It has a Turbo 400 automatic
hooked to a custom fabricated driveshaft. Narrowed Ford 9 inch rear
end has highway cruising gears. Mini tubbed for wider tires. The
floors are rock solid, they've been prepped and painted very
neatly.
The more time I spent with this one, the more I loved it. It takes
more than just money to make a car this good. It takes skilled
people that have a lot of pride in what they do. Yes, a lot of
money too!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
