Extremely rare born Daytona yellow with yellow houndstooth deluxe
interior! (recently changed to black, it can easily be yellow
again) Rotisserie restored magazine car loaded with features. Mike
McGrath was an NHRA points champion, drag racing a 69 Camaro. So
his son Patrick had a fondness for 1969 Camaros. Patrick found this
Camaro advertised for sale, once he checked the trim tag and
realized what a rare gem he just discovered, he knew it was worthy
of a complete restoration back to factory new condition. We have
the 2006 Chevy Rumble magazine that it was featured in. We also
have a photo album documenting the restoration.
EXTERIOR: It was taken down to a bare shell and put on a rotisserie
for a complete restoration. GM Goodmark sheet metal was used, there
is no rust or damage. It's straight and fits real nicely. It has a
cowl induction hood. Other features include spoilers, halo vinyl
top, hockey stick stripes and the exterior trim package. Rare and
desirable factory Daytona yellow which is only available on the
Super Sport. It is very smooth and glossy, sprayed with PPG paint.
Blacked out rear panel. I don't see any problem areas or issues.
All of the exterior trim- the bumpers, emblems, mirrors, handles,
marker lights and even all the stainless was completely replaced.
It has the correct antenna. The vinyl top was replaced. Door jambs
are painted real nice, the weather strips and window fuzzies were
replaced. The SS wheels and the BF Goodrich look like new. New rear
window and windshield.
INTERIOR: Born an extremely rare yellow houndstooth deluxe
interior, it was recently changed to black. If you want it yellow
again it is only the door panels and upholstery which are available
new. It has new cushions and upholstery. New molded door panels.
Carpet looks nice, it has reproduction rubber mats. The factory
center console had factory gauges, Hurst shifter with a chrome
ball. The dash pad, vents, heater controls, lenses all look real
nice. It has a factory Am-Fm radio, factory tachometer and a deluxe
3 spoke wheel. In the glove box is a modern stereo. The headliner
and visors have been replaced, the dome light works.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Correct 350 was rebuilt with some upgrades
including 11:1 Speed Pro pistons, GM pink rods, hotter cam and
roller rockers. The heads were ported and polished. On top is a
Holley 750 double pumper. It's full of options in here including
factory air conditioning, power steering, power brakes and a
functional cowl induction system. The motor has finned aluminum
valve covers and a set of headers. The brake booster is cadmium
plated, the master was replaced. It has as a correct clutch fan,
shroud, radiator, GM reproduction hoses and clamps. It also has
spring clamp battery cables with a Delco battery topper. The air is
updated with R134 freon. It looks complete and proper- it has
horns, squirters are hooked up, wiring harness was replaced,
components look clean.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Rock solid metal, it's been spatter painted. The
mat, weatherstrip, seat insulation and stickers were replaced. It
has a rally wheel spare with a new tire and a jack assembly.
UNDERSIDE: The entire chassis was removed and the body was flipped
on a rotisserie. The metal under the car is clean, smooth and
painted semi glass black. Every component was restored or replaced.
The front end is completely rebuilt- ball joints, bushings, sway
bar, steering components, springs and shocks. Frame connectors tie
the front to the back to prevent twist. The rear suspension was
also restored with new bushings, shocks, springs and hardware.
Brake system was completely restored, it has disc in front and the
e-brake assembly hooked up. The fuel system was replaced including
the tank, straps, sending unit and fuel lines. It's a great
sounding dual exhaust with a crossover pipe, stainless steel
MagnaFlow mufflers and stainless steel tips. Bottom of the motor is
clean Chevy Orange. The motor mounts and starter still look fresh.
M-21 Autogear 4-speed trans, Centerforce clutch. 12 bolt rear end
has 3.73 posi gears. Clean metal floors painted black.
This is such a rare and so highly desirable car it's crazy. The
factory yellow/yellow combination is one of a few made. Aside from
that, a 4-speed with air is rare. Now add all the other options,
see what I mean....rare and desirable!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
