This cult-classic station wagon comes equipped with power steering,
power brakes, a heater, and a rebuilt transmission. This Grand
Wagoneer also features a roof rack.
In 1984, AMC replaced the SJ-body Cherokee with a more
fuel-efficient model called the XJ, of which the upscale version
was known as the Wagoneer. There were two trim levels, the
"Wagoneer" and the "Wagoneer Limited", later renamed the "Grand
Wagoneer". Several other models were released but eventually
consolidated due to low sales. The Grand Wagoneer was the only
version available at the end of 1984. In 2007, the Consumers Guide
Automotive called the Grand Wagoneer, "the gold standard of the SUV
market."
