For Sale: 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This is a smooth operator. Very comfortable, turn key convertible. These Oldsmobiles look and drive nice. It's from California. We has a flash drive with tons of pictures of the restoration. Someone took the time to disassemble many areas of the car to detail and service. It's very tidy throughout.

EXTERIOR: The body is really straight from every angle and the gaps fit precisely. No dents, damage or rust. Repainted bamboo yellow. It has a very smooth, glossy finish. We have the formula for the paint in case future touch up is needed. The bumpers are recromed. The stainless trim around the windshield and wheel wells were polished. The door handles have a few pimples. The grills and tail lights look real nice. Weather strips around the doors, windshield pillars and the window seals have been replaced. It has sport mirrors. The convertible top frame was refinished and given new weatherstrips. The white top, pads and hydraulic rams were replaced. SS-1 wheels look practically new, the BFGoodrich tires are in excellent shape.

INTERIOR: It was completely gutted. The floors are rock solid. Very tastefully done custom upholstery on the door panels and seats. It has bucket seats and console. The dash was pulled apart and the gauges, duct work and wiring were gone through. Upgraded quartz clock, glovebox light works. The knobs, heater control panel, vents, lenses are clean. Original matching cigarette lighter knob. In the glovebox is an owner's manual and auxiliary plug for the stereo. A retro stereo is in the factory hole and it has upgraded speakers in the dash. It has a nice walnut steering wheel. The carpet was replaced and it has Oldsmobile floormats. Complete seatbelts front and back. The console was apart and detailed, it has an Oldsmobile vacuum gauge. The e-brake lever unit was apart and serviced.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The #matching Rocket 350 motor has a 4 barrel carb, it runs smooth. The engine compartment has been disassembled and detailed. All the components look clean and proper. Correct manifolds, valve covers, air cleaner etc. It even has date coded plug wires, reproduction hoses and clamps. The brake booster was cadmium plated, master cylinder is replaced. Washer bottle is hooked up to the squirters, it has hood insulation, horns, battery is secured properly. It has clutch fan, shroud, correct cap and side flaps. New carb, points, condenser, resistor and coil. The air conditioning was upgraded to 134 freon.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is rock solid. It's been spatter painted and then clear coated for durability. The well liner and weatherstrip have been replaced. It has an SS-1 wheel and new tire for a spare and complete jack assembly including the lug wrench. Bottom of the trunk lid and the jamb are painted glossy like the car. The trunk light even works.

UNDERSIDE: It has the Rallye suspension which includes swaybars and boxed rear control arms. The front end looks like it was gone through, the components are clean. The front wheel bearings were repacked and new seals. It has Delco air shocks in back. Factory type dual exhaust system. The fuel tank, straps and sending unit were replaced. An electric fuel pump was added. It has disc brakes in front, drum in back. The e-brake assembly is hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is clean, the starter looks new. The motor mounts were replaced. It has a Turbo 350 automatic with a chrome pan. In back it has a 10 bolt rear end with a chrome cover. The floors look very clean and solid.

If you want a nice looking vintage convertible to cruise I couldn't think of a better one than this.
