1949 Mercury Eight Coupe finished in Maroon Metallic paint. Chrome
and brightwork in good shape, does show slight pitting in areas.
Paint is in nice shape with a good shine to it throughout. This car
was fully restored in the mid-1990's from the ground up by Paddocks
Restorations in Southern California, which this started life as a
black-plate California car. This was restored to mostly original
condition. Flathead V8 under the hood that has had Offenhauser
heads and dual carb setup installed. That V8 is paired with a
3-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Rear fender skirts
completing this classic look! Silver two-tone cloth bench seat
interior with matching door cards and dash. Seats are in nice
shape! Previous owner states the fuel gauge is inop, he used miles
driven to calculate fuel consumption. Oil pressure gauge work. Temp
gauge on the dash doesn't work but there are two aftermarket
temperature gauges under the dash. Wipers worked, although they are
still vacuum and can be finicky at times. Electric fuel pump is
installed and will turn on with the key switch. Nice sounding
Mercury!
