Featured in Street Rodder magazine 2011.
We have a digital copy of the article. This is a very well built
hot rod. The body, paint and interior were done right. Great driver
too.
EXTERIOR: The body has had extensive custom work. The front end was
cleaned up by removing an abundance of trim. The hood was nosed-
removing the trim and the corners were rounded. The headlights and
turn signals were frenched. The grill opening was modified and
given a Mercury grill. A custom bumper was molded to the body. The
door handles were shaved and filled, they open by remote. In back
the trunk was decked removing and filling all the trim, it opens
remotely. The license plate is recessed, taillights are frenched.
The custom bumper was molded to the body. Pearl tangerine is a
beautiful color that glows when the light hits it. It shows really
well, but if you look for flaws you will find some minor nicks or
chips. It also has some subtle hand pin stripe. The stainless
moldings down the sides and around the windows have been
straightened and polished. The glass has been tinted. Jambs are
painted nice, has new weather strips. It currently has painted
steel rims on black radial tires and is jacked up in back for a
tough guy look.
INTERIOR: The interior is all custom. Genuine leather upholstery on
the seats and door panels. V8 is embossed on the door panels, the
handles and window cranks were replaced. It has seat belts and a
fold down center armrest. The metal inside is painted to match the
leather. The trim on the dash is excellent and it looks stock. The
knobs, heater controls, AM radio looks great. The a/c is neatly
below the dash. There is a discreet Secret Audio stereo, the
receiver is under the seat, a 10 disc changer is in the trunk and
Bose speakers hiddenout of sight. Carpet, headliner and visors were
replaced. The interior lights work. The GM tilt column has a Billet
Specialties steering wheel.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The 351 Windsor was rebuilt. Up on top it has
an Edelbrock carb with electric choke, Ford electronic ignition
system and Cobra finned valve covers. It also has a pair of
headers. Features include power steering and power brakes. Very
recently it was serviced: new fuel pump, cooling system was
flushed. An aluminum radiator with giant electric fan keeps it
cool. 8 mm plug wires run neatly. The engine bay is smooth metal
painted black.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Boxed and upholstered and has a carpeted floor.
It has a radial whitewall tire and black painted rim for a spare.
The battery is behind the side panel. Weather strip looks new.
There is a remote button to open the door.
UNDERSIDE: It has an original frame, the vin matches the title. Up
front is an independent suspension from Fatman Fabrications with
coil over shocks and rack & pinion steering. New springs and shocks
were just installed. In back the leaf springs and air shocks were
replaced. It has a composite fuel tank. The brakes were replaced
using Ford components. Disc in front, e-brake cables are hooked up.
The dual exhaust has Smithys mufflers. Bottom of the motor is
clean. It has a Ford AOD overdrive automatic. Ford 9 inch rear with
3.55 gears.
If you think a Ford should have Ford components, here it is. No
Chevy parts on this one! It's a very good car. Roomy, ready to
cruise. We have a picture from the magazine when it had different
tires and wheels, it changed the look completely. It's tough the
way it is, whitewalls and hubcaps will make it nostalgic or big
polished wheels will make it modern. This one is priced right for a
custom. Heck your paying for the custom body, paint and interior.
Everything else is free!
I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for
virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant
amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my
professional impression of the vehicle.
Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure
your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do
a walk around video that explains the car's condition in
detail.
**These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a
particular car make an appointment with a salesman to see that car.
Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the
showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded and you
will be given a 1 year membership.
