Powered by a 265/225hp V8 engine topped with two 4-barrel
carburetors mated to a 2-speed Powerglide automatic transmission
with 3.55 rear axle. The Corvette features an all-matching-numbers
drivetrain and is car #284 of the first 600 built in 1956. Finished
in Aztec Copper with Shoreline Beige coves, this car is one of only
166 produced in this color combination. The car comes
factory-equipped with radio, heater, windshield washer, power top
and hubcaps. This multi-award-winning Corvette was featured in the
March 2018 issue of Corvette magazine and was awarded four Top
Flights by the National Corvette Restoration Society (NCRS),
reflecting the condition and originality of the car as it was
produced in February 1956. Additionally, this Corvette received the
The Duntov Mark of Excellence on July 22, 2021, with a score of
98.6% (above 97% is required), received at the National Convention.
All three awards must be completed in a 3-year period. The Duntov
Award is only given to Corvettes built been 1953-74 and out of the
total Corvettes built during this time only 0.2% have achieved the
Mark of Excellence Award. Out of the total 3,467 Corvettes produced
in 1956 only 17 have received the Duntov Award. Out of the total
600 First Design units only four (0.08%) have received the Duntov
Award. The car comes with restoration documents including receipts,
NCRS Judging Summaries and Judging Manual (used in the restoration)
