Vehicle Description
1951 Chrysler Imperial Convertible for sale! Motorcar Classics is
proud to present this rare 1951 Chrysler Imperial convertible
featured in Crown Maroon with Maroon leather interior and Tan cloth
convertible top and matching Tan boot cover. In 1951, Chrysler only
built 650 Imperial Convertibles, marking this example as
exceedingly rare. Few Imperials survive today, particularly from
the early 1950s, let alone Convertibles in this condition. This
handsome car is powered by Chryslers 331 CI/180 HP Hemi V-8 engine
with Chryslers unique Fluid Drive transmission. The interior is
equipped with a split front-bench seat, push button radio, an
in-dash clock, a heater and a defroster. Outside, the car is
well-appointed with bumper guards, fender skirts, sparkling chrome
wire wheels and elegant wide whitewall tires. Other amenities
include power steering, power top, and power brakes. It is a very
rare car and indeed, Chrysler took great strides to ensure Imperial
offered customers an unusual alternative to its luxury-car
competition. Chrysler was renowned for its forward-thinking
engineering designs and superior build quality, which offered
customers advanced chassis designs, more powerful engines and a
robustness on par with tanks in many cases. Indeed, Chrysler
offered a lot for the money and its flagship Imperial line was no
different. Our Imperial is an older restoration which still has a
commanding presence on the road. It is a delightful driver with a
light patina indicative of being regularly used with pride.
