For Sale: 1972 Dodge Challenger in Volo, Illinois

Vehicle Description

This is a rare opportunity! Truly rust free original metal. Truly # s matching motor, trans, rear and color. Original fender tag and build sheet. It was stripped to a bare shell and completely restored to show quality. We have photo documentation. We have photos of it being pulled from an elderly woman's garage where it sat for many years.

EXTERIOR: The before pictures show a very clean car. It has all of it's original metal with zero rust. We also have pictures showing it stripped down to a bare shell. It was sent out and sandblasted to bare metal,, no holes The! The panels are precision fit, they are square and flush. It is laser straight from any angle. Repainted it's original Hemi orange color, no vinyl top. It is polished out to a smooth glossy finish. The wheel wells are even glossy orange. Being a Rallye, it has the sport hood, scoops on the front fenders with side stripes going down the doors. The bumpers were rechromed. The grill is restored. The stainless trim around the windows and gutters is polished like chrome. New correct antenna. In back the tail panel is blacked out, taillights are restored. It has the correct square exhaust tips coming through the valance. The door jambs are painted real slick. New weatherstrips, window seals and sill plates. It has a great stance. The tires are beefier in back. The wheels are painted gloss orange, the poverty caps are in excellent shape. It has Burton Dodge Mount Airy NC dealer tag on the trunk.

INTERIOR: The inside of the car was completely gutted and restored. We have pictures showing the clean metal and it was completely painted glossy orange, even though nobody will see it. The seats have new cushions and upholstery. All the plastic trim, door panels is in excellent condition. The carpet is new, it has embroidered floor mats too. The pistol grip shifter, boot and bezel look new. The dash pad looks mint, no cracks. It has the rallye gauges with tachometer. The steering wheel is mint, not worn. It has the original AM radio, nothing is cracked or cut on the instrument panel. The headliner is replaced and fits tight, the dome light works.

ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Vin # matched original 340-275 hp motor. The motor was rebuilt, balanced and blueprinted. Has stock manifolds and carb. The air cleaner assembly is restored very glossy. The entire engine bay was blasted to bare metal, no rust or damage. The Vin # on core support and cowl match the car. The fender tag is still attached. Under the hood and the engine bay are painted high gloss. It has Mopar hoses, reproduction clamps, original radiator and shroud. The alternator looks new. It has power brakes.

TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Very rare that it has it's original trunk pan, they all rusted out. This one's in pristine condition. The whole inside of the trunk compartment is painted as smooth and glossy as the outside. The tail light housings are clean, the wiring is all tidy. It does have a new rubber mat, insulation behind the seat and weatherstrip. The battery is relocated to the trunk. It properly secured, has new cables.

UNDERSIDE: Powder coated k- frame. 3.91 gears. The bottom of the car is rust free original metal. It was painted glossy Hemi orange like the top side. New fuel system including the tank, straps, sending unit and lines. It has a new exhaust system with Flowmaster mufflers and the correct square tips. The brakes have been redone, it has disc in front. The emergency brake cables are hooked up. Looking up at the motor it is painted neatly, the starter looks new. The original VIN number matched 4-speed is clean, the clutch was replaced. In back it has the original 3.91 Sure Grip rear end. The front end steering and suspension has been rebuilt. The rear suspension was out of the car, has new bushing and shocks. It was painted in POR 15.

This Challenger is exceptional. It has nothing to apologize for. Rust free, #s matching and restored to show quality. I'm sure the new owner will be very proud!
