Vehicle Description
The 1956 Ford Thunderbird is iconic, but the reason why you stopped
to check this one out is because of the bright shining total
package. And as you dig deeper, you'll find plenty of quality
investments, a strong V8, and cold-blowing A/C.
The story goes that Chevrolet would have likely canceled the
Corvette if their cross-town rivals at Ford had not introduced the
Thunderbird. This one has a cool nod to that history with the
paint. So while the first-gen Thunderbird was available in Torch
Red, this one was resprayed in a color by the same name, but in a
mixture borrowed from a 1995 Corvette. Pretty cool story, right?
Even if you don't want to tell the tale of the paint, it has a
gloss and shine that will have you happily show it off. Today you
will find a few micro-scratches and other small blemishes from
being responsibly enjoyed, because after all, a car like this
belongs out on the boulevard every Saturday night. Plus, you can
tell it's a well-respected package with clean glass, good lights,
pliable weather-stripping, and good-looking body lines all over the
car. You have all the right premium style pieces, like the chrome
bumpers, fender skirts, hood scoop, and continental kit. It also
wouldn't be an iconic T-bird without the porthole hardtop, and this
one has a terrific look as it coordinates with the whitewall
tires.
As much as we love the look of this one with the iconic hardtop in
place, these are meant to be open to the world. So the white and
red return for an excellent style on the seat and door panels. They
took the time to give you an impressive vintage presentation, and
so you have working pieces like the courtesy light, clock, and AM
radio. So you know you'll love showing it off to other enthusiasts
like you. And this T-bird was also built for driving. You'll love
slipping behind the artful factory steering wheel and looking at
the cool Plexiglas speedometer and tach. And the vintage air
conditioning is the perfect addition to keep this one comfortable
with the top down long into the summer season.
The 292 cubic-inch V8 looks terrific in the engine bay. You'll be
proud to show off all the right components - including the pie dish
air cleaner w/hood diaphragm and iconic Thunderbird logo valve
covers. Ford red paint on the block looks great, and there's a
proper four-barrel carburetor to make sure you have a torque-filled
powerhouse. And if you dig into the history, you'll find that the
motor was resealed within the last few years to help keep this a
strong driver. The dual exhaust has a nice low V8 burble that's
powerful without being overbearing, which is a perfect soundtrack
for the weekend cruising. In fact, if you like a true classic that
feels the road, this one is done right. The three-speed manual
transmission gives you proper control over the V8, and those
classic whitewalls hide a modern tire tread.
Complete with owner's manual, this Thunderbird has a cool color
combo, a cool story, and an even cooler A/C interior. So don't miss
a red-hot deal like this. Call today!!!
