For Sale: 1987 Chevrolet K-30 in Lavergne, Tennessee

Vehicle Description

A truck like this 1987 Chevrolet K30 Silverado 4x4 is a rarely-seen quad cab classic. So when it was given a full restomod restoration, they celebrated all you really want in a beefy long bed. That means big power, an intimidating stance, and plenty of comfort for all that extra space inside.

There was a full restoration on this truck, and it was completed only about 700 miles ago. So it does a great job of mixing classic style and modern upgrades. This starts with the paint package. The two-tone blue is a timeless color combo, so it looks sharp and fresh on this Silverado. Plus, a third blue is used for the pinstriping that runs from the headlight and all the way around the tailgate for a great bold and premium touch. There are the best HD truck pieces everywhere from the classic cab running lights to the upgraded side rails with steps for both rows and the long bed. And as nice as the chrome bumpers are, we bet the piece of brightwork that's really grabbing your attention is the set of big 24-inch American Force wheels. As much as this is a looker, it's always going to remain a useful pickup. So that's why you have upgrades like the locking toolbox, full liner paint in the long bed, a bed-mounted spare tire, and an adjustable air ride suspension in the rear to handle the larger loads.

Classic truck fans know the 3+3 badge on the side is a rare and special thing. Useful quad cab pickups are common today, but they were pretty much a special order at your local Chevy dealer in 1987 to get a consumer truck with two rows that could fully sit six adults (3+3). Just like the exterior, this one was made to give you a premium vintage style with plenty of modern appeal added in. The dash, carpeting, door panels, and velour upholstery have a classic style, but a fresh feeling from a modern investment. There are even nice details, like the bright trim and working courtesy lights. There are great factory features like power windows, power locks, and cruise control. Plus, the best in modern comfort has been well integrated. That's why the AM/FM radio has a retro style but hides a modern digital tuner with Bluetooth, and the air conditioning is now a Vintage Air unit running modern R134a refrigerant. There's even Dynamat insulation lining the whole cab. And the new crisp Velocity gauges include a large tach to go with the tall shifter.

There's a lot of room in the engine bay, and so they made sure to fill it with plenty of power. It's a 6.2-liter L92 V8. This is a modern and hardy motor that makes plenty of power on its own, but according to the consignor, it was just the base for a fully built powerhouse. It starts with a full Texas Speed camshaft kit that includes the lifters, pushrods, valve springs, and timing. There are also new rocker arms/trunnions, a Melling oil pump, a Holley aluminum intake, and topped with FiTech throttle body electronic fuel injection. It's even supported by the right pieces, like dual batteries, an MSD LS ignition controller, and a three-core aluminum radiator with dual electric fans. We're told there was about 72k miles on the motor before it was upgraded, and there's less than 700 total miles on the build today. You control the full package with an SM465 heavy-duty four-speed manual transmission. There's even a Gear Vendors over/underdrive unit that basically doubles your gears to let you fully take control of this motor. And while that lifted suspension gives you an awesome stance you'll love, it's also part of a very capable package. This includes a Rough Country six-inch lift, Toyo Open Country tires, a two-speed 4x4 transfer case, and Dana 60 axles at both ends. But even just for everyday cruising, you have power steering, power brakes, front discs, and a limited-slip rear end.

We have a long list of all the amazing pieces that went into this full and fresh build. We don't have the room to list it all, so get in touch for all the details. We'll tell you all about how awesome and complete this rare K30 full build is. Call today!!!
