Vehicle Description
We don't have to tell you that this 1974 Chevrolet Corvette
Convertible is a custom mean machine. The big power dome hood, roll
bar w/ harnesses, and gleaming side pipes already do a darn good
job of announcing that. But you're going to want to dig into the
details that show plenty of fresh components that were rebuilt less
than 2k miles ago. And at the heart of it all is a fuel-injected
383 stroker motor pumping out an estimated 450 horsepower!
The factory-correct dark red paint is an attractive color, but what
likely first grabs your attention is the upgraded L88 hood. That
big power dome done in black tells you this car has a dark side.
And it also goes nicely with both the black folding roof and
vinyl-wrapped hardtop. And there's a nice hint of brightwork on the
polished wheels and wicked set of side pipes. There have already
been a lot of investments in care in this car. You see it in
everything from the way the doors close with confidence to the
recent buff and polish that brought some nice luster to the paint.
You may find room for improvement, and the value price for all this
speed leaves room in your budget for a respray if that's what
you're really after. But we already like what this one offers. It's
a powerful Corvette that's built to be driven, and so there's
something attractive about a complete but worry-free kind of
finish.
While it's nice to have the option of both roofs, the best way to
go is with no roof at all. It shows off more of this car's
aggressive style with the roll bar that's welded to the frame. And
mounted on this are the Corbeau five-point racing harnesses. You'll
also spot more performance-oriented upgrades like the NGR removable
steering wheel and Hurst shifter. It's easy to get comfortable with
leather seats, a tilt/telescopic steering column, full gauges, and
retro-style AM/FM radio w/cassette. This was even a factory A/C car
(it will need components and servicing to return the function.)
Just like the exterior, the budget leaves room for improvements and
personalization. But what's appealing from day one is a solid
investment in competition-ready style, right down to the battery
shutoff switch behind the seats.
Under the hood is a clean and mean V8. This 350 cubic-inch unit was
rebuilt into a 383 stroker motor in September 2019. It was enhanced
and fortified further with a Comp Cams road-racing roller camshaft,
roller rockers, Brodix heads, a high-performance oil pump, and
Hooker long tube headers. And those side pipes have slide-in
mufflers for the right tone. The full package is topped off with a
FiTech fuel injection system for the best in performance and
consistency. It's said there's less than 1k miles on the motor and
that this powerhouse was dyno'd at 450 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of
torque. So it's fresh and fast. This is also supported with the
right pieces, like a 7 qt baffled road racing oil pan, a new power
steering pump (2019) w/ steel braided lines, and a Champion
three-core aluminum radiator with electric fans. You fully control
this awesome power package with a T10 four-speed manual
transmission that was rebuilt in 2020. We love these Stingrays
because they have a nimble sporting style. This gets enhanced
further on this one. For example, the four-wheel power disc brakes
now have Wilwood calipers. And the fully independent suspension
continues to feel nimble thanks to newer suspension bushings and
QA1 adjustable coilovers.
Complete with build receipts, you can see how this Stingray has the
serious power to live up to its serious style. That makes for an
awesome power driver. So don't miss this deal. Call today!!!
