1970 Plymouth 'cuda
Built in the Hamtramck plant in MI, this 'cuda came east and is believed to have been sold in NJ first and then migrated up to CT, where the current owner bought her about 12 years ago. He thinks he is the third or fourth owner. The car came from the factory loaded with options as seen on the 2 fender tags. Those include: A833 4 speed transmission with Pistol Grip shifter and console; 340 4 bbl V8; High trim grade,vinyl bucket seats; full vinyl roof;Light Pkg; Rallye Instrument cluster; Power Brakes, Power Steering; 2 side mirrors (driver side remote); Rear Window defogger w/blower; fender turn signals; hood pins; dual exhaust; bright exhaust tips; and 26" radiator, to name a few.
The car went through a complete restoration over 15 years ago, the engine was rebuilt and painted, unfortunately, so heavy that the engine number isn't discernible, however, it was built within a couple of days as the build of the car, and the owner says it is the original engine. It was fully stripped and repainted in the original Rallye Red, with new vinyl top.
The car runs and drives probably better than new. The odometer reads 995 miles, actual miles are unknown, however, the current owner has put several thousand miles on it, most during his first few years of ownership, as he hasn't really driven the last couple and is the reason why he's letter her go.
The car is almost a number one car, but a couple of small issues keep her as a solid high level two.
There is a paint issue starting to show on the left front fender, up top, near the cowl; the console has damage to front of it; a couple of very small chips on the rear running lights; the C pillar headliner pieces are a little wrinkled, there is a very small seam separation on the driver bolster and there is wear on the pistol grip shifter.
The tires are Goodyear Polyglas GT G60-15 on the original Rallye wheels. One has a small chip on it.
It will be hard to find one in much better condition. This one has won several trophies here in CT.
