Vehicle Description
HIGHLIGHTS: Factory 350V8, Dark Blue paint, white top truck!
Running and driving project Blazer! Double wall top, power 4-wheel
disc brakes! Great resto or custom candidate!!
BODY OVERVIEW: The body on this 1971 K5 Blazer is in good overall
condition, however there are some rust concerns on the underside
behind the rocker boxes. There is some bubbling visible at the
bottom of the passenger side door, as well as a small rust area in
the passenger side inner fender. We've made sure to photograph all
the areas that we are able to see that have some rust concerns,
these areas can be seen in the photos.
The bed/rear floor pan is in good overall condition, but it appears
there are some areas that have been patched in the past. The front
floor pan looks decent from underneath, but on the top side under
the floor mat thick metal plates have been welded over top of the
original floor.
PAINT CONDITION OVERVIEW: Originally a Dark Blue truck, as can
still be seen in some areas, this Blazer was repainted a lovely
shade of 1990s turquoise. This was not a top-quality paint job, and
appears to be an older repaint, but aside from a few obvious dings,
chips, and scratches seen in the photos, the paint is in good
overall condition though the tailgate letters leave something to be
desired.
INTERIOR CONDITION OVERVIEW: The interior is a mixture of original
components and non-original components. The leather bucket seats
are not original to this vehicle, and as seen in the photos, they
could stand to be replaced. The other interior components,
including the steering wheel, armrests, and dash pad should be
considered in fair, original condition.
MECHANICAL OVERVIEW: Under the hood sits a non-original 350V8
hooked up to a TH350 automatic transmission. Other amenities
include power steering, power 4-wheel disc brakes, and a tilt
steering column. The 350 runs great, and this truck does move under
its own power. The rear differential feels as if it may be
welded.
WHAT YOU'LL LOVE ABOUT THIS CAR: The price point!
WHAT YOU MIGHT HATE ABOUT THIS CAR: If you're after an
all-original, unmolested K5 Blazer, this is not it.
DOES IT NEED ANYTHING? Although this Blazer runs and drives, it
should be considered a project vehicle as it is a great restoration
or custom build candidate.
WHAT BUYER IS LOOKING FOR THIS CAR? Anyone looking for an
affordable K5 Blazer!
