inherited the style of serenity & comfort with high-power. €"
Google Arts & Culture R&D USA Classics provides more specifics
on the Super Model 56S: In 1941, there were five different Buick
model lines, called 'series.' They used both names and numerical
designations. Of these five series, there were four different
wheelbases and two different engines offered. The Special was
broken into 118-inch and 121-inch wheelbases (A-Series and
B-Series, respectively) and used a 248 cubic-inch straight-8. Dual
carburetors were optional on Specials. The Supers used the same
121-inch wheelbase and 248 cubic-inch engine as the Special
B-Series, with dual carburetors as standard equipment. Offered here
is a completely original 1941 Buick Super 56S in gray-and-blue over
gray. Showing 48,884 total miles on its odometer, the car has been
professionally maintained by Steve's Antique Auto Repair of
Wyoming, Michigan (https://stevesantiqueautorepair.com) and
presents as a very well-maintained pre-War collectible Buick. Road
presence perfectly describes the character of this '41 Buick. The
two-tone exterior paint would've been noteworthy back in the
Depression era and is still an attractive combination. The
integration of the two colors-including the handsome gray stripe on
the blue hood-is noteworthy. This car's exterior paint finish
retains excellent luster for its age with no signs of damage to the
bodywork. (To best assess the quality of the paint and trim
finishes, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in
the accompanying gallery.) Chrome trim on the sides of the body,
hood portholes, window surrounds, side mirror, rear-fender trim,
front-fender tops, together with the art-deco-style grille and
headlight arrangement all retains excellent shine and very little
patina. Chrome bumpers show only light patina. Badging-including
the Buick grille emblem, Buick Eight hood lettering, Super
front-fender-porthole script, and Buick Eight rear-deck emblem-is
all in place and in well-maintained condition. Cabin glass and all
lighting lenses-including the stylish taillights-are clear and
undamaged. Red-painted steel wheels feature Buick-branded chrome
hubcaps and trim rings. Period-correct wide whitewall tires are
mounted. Inside, the originality continues as does the handsome
design: textured light-gray cloth adorns the seats and
chrome-trimmed door panels, with only the driver's portion of the
front split-bench seat-back and cushion showing significant
age-related wear. The headliner shows some staining. Darker gray
carpeting covers the cabin floors. The 3-spoke, chrome steering
wheel features the Buick Eight center emblem and frames an
elegantly designed dashboard. Complete art-deco-style instruments
with bronze-and-cream-colored faces are set in turned-metal trim.
Various push-button controls are arranged vertically on both sides
of the chrome center-dash speaker grille above the factory radio.
(Some age-related deterioration of plastic on gauge faces and radio
buttons is noted.) A clock set in the same turned-metal trim faces
the front passenger. The shift lever for the 3-speed manual
transmission is mounted on the steering column. The car's trunk is
pristine with tattersall-pattern matting in place. Under the
right-side-hinged hood, the 248-cubic-inch, dual-carburetor Buick
Valve In-Head Fireball Dynaflash Eight is complete
