This 1979 Chevrolet Corvette has a ton of originality inside and
out, but there's also a strong and fresher V8 under the hood to
make for a great cruiser. It even has working A/C! So you've got a
T-top legend with a ton of appeal and a ton of potential.
The color on this one is quite interesting. Corvette Light Blue was
offered only for a few years alongside Classic White, and sometimes
you'd need to part the two colors next to each other just to see
the difference. That's because this is a delicately sophisticated
hue that lets its hint of color really capture your attention. And
since this is so unique, we're glad to see what appears to be the
original application. The finish is far from perfect, but it does
allow you to have a survivor-style appearance or use the value
price to budget for a show-stopping respray. And as you look over
the whole car, you can see good fundamentals in the body panels
with a good fit and clean lines. There are even nice options in
place, like the glass roof panels and polished aluminum wheels.
While the T-top panels look good in place, you're going to want to
take them out, because after all, the open-air experience is part
of classic car fun. There's even cold-blowing factory air
conditioning to keep you cool while staying open in the summer.
It's loaded with more great features like power locks, power
windows (passenger side needs servicing), and cruise control. Just
like the exterior, the interior is highly original, and so you can
find areas for improvement. But this one is always a true driver's
car. You have contoured bucket seats finished in leather, a tilt
steering column, and a full gauge package with large speedo and
tach.
Under the hood is an updated 350 cubic-inch V8. This is a
Goodwrench crate engine installed later in life, and it's topped
with a four-barrel carburetor. It starts easily, idles smoothly,
and is ready to hit the road. In fact, the dual exhaust is a
straight pipe setup (with newer catalytic converters) to give you
the right V8 tune. It's an all-around good cruiser with the
firm-shifting three-speed automatic transmission. There's also a
fully independent sports suspension, power steering, and four-wheel
power disc brakes.
There are areas to improve this one, like the paint, headlight
doors, and windows. But from day one you have a strong-runner that
gives you desirable features like cold-blowing A/C. So in total,
you have a car with good fundamentals and good features, and the
money left in your budget lets you choose how to personalize it in
the future. Call today!!!
