For Sale: 1964 Plymouth Savoy in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Vehicle Description

While it may appear to have come right off the strip at the '64 Winternationals, this sanitary California-born 1964 Plymouth Savoy 2-door Sedan is now available from the MAXmotive Pittsburgh Showroom. Presented as a Max Wedge Super Stock tribute, the car is a mean street machine powered by a genuine 413 cubic inch V8 with the iconic Cross-Ram manifold and two four-barrel carbs, plus a little lope from a high performance cam. Coated Hedman Hedders direct the exhaust through dual pipes and Thrush mufflers. An added trick is the unboltable exhaust outlets, allowing the exhaust to sing before it reaches the mufflers. A 3.73 Sure-Grip rear end puts the power down, and front disc brakes with a dual master cylinder slows the car down safely. An electronic ignition and an aluminum radiator help out in the reliability department. The car's authentic, nostalgic look comes from its pure white paint, reminiscent of legendary cars from the likes of the Ramchargers, Jenkins, Strickler and many more. The shiny repaint is less than five years old. The proud Plymouth features American Torq-Thrust wheels on skinny Firestone Deluxe Champions up front, while the steelies in back mount modern Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S in size P275/60R15 that tuck neatly into the fender wells. The "A/Stock Automatic" graphic denotes the presence of the Torq-flite automatic transmission, a gearbox almost as storied as the great Mopar motors. This one has been overhauled with a shift kit for a little extra snap. The famous push button shifter selects the gears. The interior is appropriately spartan with a blue bench seat. A vintage tach and a triple gauge cluster are the only additions. It's even radio delete. But fear not, there is a heater. The Max Wedge was the precursor to the Hemi and deserves its legendary status. But the 413 is plenty stout too. The Beach Boys even sang about it. This nostalgic 1964 Plymouth Savoy 2-door post presents the look, the sound, and the attitude of a vintage Mopar race car, while providing stout street performance and easy driveability.
